  About 2 months ago, Coco, got a rash on his front left leg. We thought that he might have caught his leg in his cage door and migh have scraped off his skin, but nothing turned up when we inspected his cage door or his room. After taking him to the 1st vet, she gave some ointment and oral antibiotics for helping it heal quickly and put him in a cone. We kept the treatment for 2 weeks and it seems to get better. His skin was all healed and his fur was coming back. One day when we removed the cone, he attacked his wound and we were back to square one.
  
  Then we took him to a different vet and this vet tested him for fungal infection. The test turned out positive, so he gave three sets of meds and we did this course for 2 weeks. Again the cone was on the whole time the treatemnt was going on. We also noticed that he started itching his right side of the body more and one particular area (right above his right leg). Once again when the skin was all healed and the fur was coming back we removed the cone after 20 days but Coco attacked his wound again. When we took him to this vet, we also noticed a red pimple like on his rectal. The vet said that its a tumor which we’ll deal with after we have the fungal cleared out.
  
  The last vet we took him to is a ayurvedic vet and he gave some herbal meds that we applied to the wound. His wound is getting better, but we now noticed another rash on his back which was not there before. His healing process is not as fast as the first two treatments, and he is ithching more and more on his right side of the body. This vet checked for mites and he ruled that out.
  
  Anyone have an idea as to what might be going on with him? Coco is eating, pooping and drinking normally. No change has been noticed in his diet.

  I have never experienced anything like this so I am of no help. Sorry I just wanted to send some healing vibes (((((((((((((Coco))))))))))))).

  This sounds somewhat like FluffyBunny’s, Mr. Bunny. Let me PM her and have her reply to see if what Mr. Bunny had is what Coco MAY have.

  Could it be an allergic reaction to the fungus or the meds?

  I’m sorry to hear that your bunny is having this problem. My male bunny, Mr. Bunny, had a similar problem about a year ago. He suddenly started getting rash-covered bald spots all over his head, ears and butt. He got checked for both fungus and mites, and turned out not to have either. We tried fungus treatments and several types of mite treatments, but nothing seemed to be working for him.
  
  Eventually we went to a rabbit vet and had a blood test and exam done. The vet said that Mr. Bunny had either sebaceous adenitis (an immune problem) or a hormone imbalance. We were told that we’d just have to live with it and hope that it would resolve itself.
  
  I figured out that applying Bag Balm – a non-prescription anti-itch ointment for livestock – is a great way to heal up rashes and relieve itchiness on bald spots. It won’t get to the root of the problem, but it might give your bunny enough relief that he stops biting and scratching his bald spots. Also, make sure that you keep your bunny’s cage really clean and keep him away from any concrete. Mr. Bunny’s problem always flares up when he lays on urine or concrete.

  I would either see a third vet for another opinion or go back to the second vet who had the good sense to test for a fungal infection. Did you have a follow up with the second vet after the treatment was done?

  Immune system problem comes to mind or if fungal infection is only treated in certain areas then maybe that is why it is re-occuring on the body as it never actually clears up.. Has your bunny been on an oral anti-fungal medication?
