I held Tillie today while hubby clipped her nails. She did really well, but she was pretty p’od after we were done. I set her down and she ran into her condo. I grabbed a barley biscuit and when I went to give it to her she charged my hand (she sort of swatted at me with both front feet)! I was shocked!!  Does anyone elses bun do that when they are mad? Everytime I think we are taking 2 steps forward she has to remind me who is boss.

Some rabbits (especially females) can be very territorial. I see it as someone intruding on her house… and she is defending her house. I would not like it

She is indeed the boss. I have given up a long time ago, and take the rabbit abuse. I am her slave, I bow to her.

Talking from a person that gets footflicks, tail wags, thumps on a daily basis… I just exist, does she hate me that much?

[EDIT] I tend to shake the raisin bag after a nail trim or grooming, and despite the footflicks, she comes running back to me for the treat

This is the first time she has ever done that while in her condo (and I am in there why she is, cleaning her litter box, getting her more water, etc). She had a bratty attitude for a good 2 hours after her pedicure. But then just a bit ago, before I put her to bed, she was lying with her back feet out to the side and when I approached her to give her nose rubs, she let me without hopping on all fours (she has never allowed me to love her while laying that way). So, another 2 steps forward.

Wait, tomorrow is another day …

Even after Gabby got spayed she will honk and slap my hands if I even act like I’m touching her veggies after they are given to her. If I don’t give her all the raisins in my hands she will do it too. I think it’s her way of saying faster slave.

Hehehe.. yes, it is quite awesome when a flopping bunny lets you pet them

I get honked at sometimes.. I take it as a love thing..

Lolli has growled and batted at me when I’ve tried to pet her while she’s under something. I take it more as a “LEAVE ME ALONE!” thing. Tillie was probably just stressed out from the nail trim and needed her alone time. Trust me, she’ll ALWAYS want/need her alone time. LOL

Otto boxed and grunted at me once when I tried to pet him in his cage and he didn’t want me to. He’s never territorial, but he’s always grouchy so I interpreted it as “Leave me alone, lady!”

I’ve never been boxed, but I get charged at whenever I disturb Mr Powder’s nap time under the bed. And the girl will charge at me if I disturb her playtime by trying to make her not destroy something she shouldn’t. lol

I found my female has a LOT more attitude than my male.

My fiancee has told me that when she went to cover up some forgotten wires that Rory had been sniffing at, he honked at her indignantly and walked behind the bed. I continue to be very amazed with how expressive rabbits can be!

My husband got honked and slapped at when he told Gabby to quit chewing on something. He was shocked she did that to him. He didn’t realized she did that. My boy Thumper has never done this to us. He’s a more personable bunny and seems to really enjoy being around people alot.

Samantha bun-slaps me just for fun now. I swear, she thinks she’s playing when she roars and swats and lunges. I have a monster wabbit.
