  Well, we tried on of those hay holder things for Bun-Bun…… and we assumed that he was not fond of hay. He had a few nibbles in the week he was in the cage at the start. But basically ignored it.
  
  Once we moved him to the hutch, the hay holder didnt fit and we just put some in the corner and in his litter box until we found something that would work. Again, assumed he was not fond of hay as he basically nibbled a couple of pieces and ignored it.
  
  Now that he was back in his cage, I saw somewhere online what looked basically like a treat ball with hay in it. So, off I went to Petsmart to grab one and we stuff it with hay, hung it right by litter box where he can get to it either while in box or while just in cage.
  
  Apparently THAT did the trick. Since the hay ball was hung on Sunday…. he ate 1/2 of it Monday, finished the rest overnite Monday. Tuesday I filled it again and it is over 1/2 gone again. YEAH
  
  He is always over there taking a nibble or two, so apparently he DOES like hay….. he just wants it hanging in a treat ball, not on the wall in a holder or on the floor. He has eaten 100x more hay in the past 3 days than he did the whole first 2 weeks here. More like what I read he should eat in the books and online!

  Yay! I’m glad this is working for you. It is good, too, because Bun-Bun is getting some exercise and relieving some boredom. It has to be more fun than just eating it out of a hay hopper or litter box!

  Ok, what is totally funny for me is that I had rabbits growing up but they lived outside in a hutch my Grandpa built. I fed them rabbit pellets and veggies and fruit, gave them fresh water, etc. and the extent of extras is they had an old towel or shirt to sleep with. I took them out and played with them, carried them over to my grandparents orchard and let them run around because it was fenced and safe. And they lived 4-5 yrs and would pass away from age I guess. I was a kid and had no clue, etc. They would get replaced with another bunny.
  I knew before we even rescued Bun-Bun that he or she would be a house rabbit, I knew they had great personalities, etc. and I wanted he or she to be inside so it was like the cat or dog. What I did not know was HOW moody they can be, HOW particular they can be, HOW spoiled they are because they weedle their ways into our hearts and we buy stuff, adjust stuff, make stuff…. JUST to make them happy.LOL
  I mean we have bought the cage, then the hutch, then the horse stall matting for the hutch, then realized he HATES the hutch, placed him back in the cage, bought 3 different food dish styles to find one that works best for HIM, bought 1 hay holder, was given a hay holder(different type) with hutch and ended up buying the treat ball this past weekend. Bought a desk to put cage on yesterday and am painting it and fixing it up today. Bought a desk so we have storage in the drawers for his food, his brushes and nail clippers, his spare bowls and toys, his hay, his harness, etc.
  Friday I will be rearranging the living room so that the desk WITH his cage will be by front door where he prefers to be…. and then switching rest of room around so the people part of the family can still watch TV comfortably WHILE keeping the bunny happy!LOL
  Hmmmm, who is in control here!

  Well, there is a reason we are commonly called bunny slaves not bunny owners
  
  And yeah, they are very particular sometimes. My life belongs to two rabbits and a bird, all of them spoiled rotten and everything gets adjusted to how they like it. lol

  Yep, we have 1 Mini Australian Cattle Dog; 1 domestic shorthair cat; 1 bearded dragon; 4 ducks; 20 chickens; and now Bun-Bun.
  They are ALL spoiled rotten. Heck next weekend, my in-laws will be helping us put a whole new roof on the 10 x 20 run for the ducks and chickens so that they have better coverage. And later this Summer once Hubby’s knee is better he will be adding a bump-out on the chicken house just for the ducks so they do not have to sleep under their roosting sisters and get pooped on! The past 2 weeks+ we have been working to get Bun-Bun set up the way HE wants and apparently prefers!LOL
  This morning at 5:30am I was changing the light bulbs in the bearded dragon cage, even before I had coffee made because now that it is warming up…. she needs a lower wattage bulb to offset the warmth outside and I wanted to get it done before her timer turned on the lights. And of course the stupid bulb came apart so here I am, in my nightgown…..crawling around under the giant bookshelf to find the cord to unplug it so I can replace a simple lightbulb safely. What should have taken me 2 minutes to include getting new bulb out of pantry and tossing old one….. took me 10 minutes. Wanted the lizard to be happy and content!LOL
  Slaves to the pets, that is me!
  On my chicken group we call ourselves beakwipes! So, now I am a beakwipe and a bunny slave!! Need to a t-shirt made!LOL
  
  Plus I am Mom to 2 teenage boys, Daycare Mom to 4 preschool boys and Married to my soulmate for 18 years. Keeps me busy between them and the pets! Cannot say I have a boring life!LOL

  lol wow, sounds like you have a busy life there. I could handle the animals, but not the kids !

  Your story reminds me of a lizard we had a long time ago. I got up one morning and went downstairs to check on him. I realized it was dark in his room (light was on a timer, should have been on). I went in there and he was sitting on his perch underneath the light. He heard me coming and turned to give me the dirtiest death stare I had ever seen. He KNEW that light was supposed to be on. Yeesh!

  I know that glare!LOL Gotten it from our bearded dragon, though she is so sweet she rarely has issues. But, our chameleon that we had…… MAN. The glare was her speciality!LOL
