Most likely it is adolescence – you may want to cage him for awhile until he gets his litter box habits back. Usually a neuter will help him get back on track but that can take a month or two once their hormones settle down.

It can happen like that. Hormones ramp up and litter habits go out the window.

I wonder though if you’ve started a new bag of litter? I remember someone accidently picked up a scented kind and their rabbit refused to use it.

50/50 vinegar and water is good for cleaning up accidents. I like steam cleaning hard floors but I think it can set stains more on carpet sometimes. Especially if it contains proteins.

Sounds like hormones. You can make him a little run area with a tarp or linoleum floor until his hormones calm down again, that way you can just sweep up if he has accidents. Though, you started the new bag of litter, is it the same type of litter you were using before? My male is very finicky – no smells and it even has to look the same. I use newspaper with him and I changed his litter one day and he avoided the litter box – His Highness apparently didn’t like that I used the sports page with colored ink/pictures, so I went in and flipped the pages over to black&white text and he hopped right back in and peed. I told him I got the hint and had to scrub his room down, he supervised the entire time. lol

For cleaning carpet, I got nature’s miracle. I just find it so much easier than vinegar/water, the smell doesn’t linger as long and it dries really fast. I have a 5 gallon jug of vinegar as well though, but I mainly use it on the tile/wood.
