Hi there for the past 5 nights my bunn has been making so much noise at night. She bites the cage doors then when that doesn’t work she will start tossing toys then she toss’s her hidey house. She did it at 5:30 in the morning but last night it was 2:30. I have been ignoring her but that doesn’t work she goes for about 1 hour making noise. Finally last night i got up and gave her a few pellets that made her stop for about 2 hours then she started again. Any advice on this I would greatly appreciate it? thanks

Is she in your bedroom? If so, I would place her cage in another room so she doesn’t bother you.

Early mornings is their active time, so it’s normal for her to be moving around and making her presence known at that time. If she’s in a small cage, some people have had luck with attaching an xpen so they can come out and play in a confined space while you sleep. Otherwise, moving her to a different room…

Agree, my bun is always active at about 5:30-6am. He does his bunny 500s, runs around, plays with toys. An x-pen would solve the chewing on the cage door, then you could put some quieter toys out for her to chew and play with until you wake up.

aww my bun woke me up at 5 am this morning (he sleeps on my bed, has no cage) by tugging on my shirt and blankets insisting that i play with him maybe just let them out in a completely safe spot so they can run around and be hyper by themselves

Thanks for the great tips my bunny is in an xpen a pretty big xpen. I really can’t move her out of my room because there isn’t any other place to move her. She has never done this before. She has been in my room for almost a year now. thanks again for the tips

I had the same problem with cady but then I just have him free roam of my room, and even though he still makes noise around 6am its better than the noise of him shaking the cage bars, except when he decides I must be up then he gets really crazy and jumps on my face….does she cause any destruction when shes out?

Can you give bunbun some out of cage time, and play with her a TON right before bed?  Make your routine putting her back in the xpen RIGHT before you go to bed, and try to wear her out a bit before bedtime.  That way they’ll be more apt to “sleep in” a bit. .

If that doesn’t work, a box fan in your room, not pointed at the bun cage, should be enough noise to drown out bunbun antics.
