  I’m reiterating what I wrote in response to another thread because I was wondering if anyone had similar issues pre-neutering!
  
  I now refer to my precious mini lop, Miles, as my Little Psycho Nutcase because he went completely and utterly bonkers once bunny puberty hit. Started with some honking and nipping, then digging at my arms and trying to hump them (ignoring my attempts to transfer the urges to a teddy bear), then he started forgetting how to poop in any litterbox outside his cage, then he learned he was big enough to jump on my bed and couch which led to him feeling the need to pee all over both, even if he was only up there for a second before I scooped him up and moved him down. If I block him from getting up to where he wants to go and pee, he stomps his foot and hops away! COME ON!!
  
  Covering my bed in puppy potty training pads is getting a little old, but it’s really breaking my heart because I don’t want to hang out with him anymore. All he does is nip at me (and it hurts!), dig at me, and poop and pee all over the darn place. Where did the little bunny who used to fall asleep in my lap go?!
  
  He had pretty much mastered litter training prior to this nonsense starting, and was the sweetest little thing you could ever imagine. He’s still as friendly, but now his wiring is driving him towards different goals once he gets close to the people he thinks he wants to hang out with. This is my human interpretation
  
  I’ve been literally hoping and praying that his little bunny testicles would descend so my vet will neuter him. Today I checked, and there they were! Cue happy dance!
  
  I’m sincerely hoping that someone else out there had a bunny who went insane, but then made a full recovery after a little snippage.

  Been there and done that! lol except Cadys dropped way early..then the terror started, but since his neutering no poops outside the box! and no more psycho mood swings ( just the occassional temper tantrum when he doesnt get his way). Good luck with his surgery!!

  I just made the appointment for this coming Thursday! I love the vet I found for him, he was so funny about it on the phone. Originally he said that Miles might not even need to be neutered because he was SUCH a sweetheart as a baby. He sure proved him wrong! TaraMichele, I hope Miles turns out the same as Cady!

  It isn’t so much who has had a bunny go nuts like yours, it’s who hasn’t????
  so much so that BB added an entire section in the Bunny Info. section of the site devoted to it. I think it’s linked right to the home page, too.

  He was about 4-1/2 months old when they descended. I read and reread the Bunny Gone Nutty page because it was so reassuring as he went more and more bonkers.
  
  He had the surgery yesterday and it went perfectly fine. The vet kept him until 4 pm (I dropped him off at 8 am) to make sure he was going to be okay. He used suture glue to seal Miles up and said to keep his activity limited for 48 hours so he’s been in his cage since I brought him home. I have to make sure he stays clean so I put a puppy pad in half of the cage where his litterbox and food/water are, and the other half has a tile that he likes to lay on because it’s cool, and his teddy bear for some semblance of company. I take him out and pet him sometimes, but he starts to get antsy and tries to get away so I have to put him back.
  
  He’s been getting a little bit of his favorite veggies (I introduced one at a time every few days starting when he was 4 mo. old): celery, cilantro, a little bit of kale, green pepper. I put them in his food dish, which is next to his litterbox, and he eats from inside his litterbox. He’s been using it almost exclusively since he got home, except for some poops left when he’s laying down for a long time. He seems okay, a little bored, but he’s good.
  
  The vet said to allow 10-14 days for him to fully heal before he’s allowed to be out of his cage as much as he was before. I wonder what everyone here thinks is best as far as keeping him happy and starting to give him more space while he’s healing?
