  So I just wanted to let you all know that I may not be present on BB for a bit, so don’t panic…lol…but my computer has acquired some nasty data block type error and I’m probably going to have to send it in to be salvaged this week. No idea how long it wil take or if it’s even possible to save it.
  
  Totally hacks me off, I’ve got some projects I’m busy doing that may not be retrievable, plus all my FLIP videos that I hadn’t gotten a chance to make copies of…don’t even want to think about all the banking data I may lose…I’m hoping I can upload some family pictures and stuff to Photobucket for storage until I can figure out where to go from here.
  
  So…I’ll try to at least lurk, but not sure how much longer my PC is going to be functional. Sorry…I’m going to miss you while it’s in the shop. >.<

  I know how you feel. My computer hardrive failed last week and some of my word documents are gone. Some of my pictures and videos are still missing but my dad said they will be recovered soon. You will be missed! I hope you don’t lose any thing!

  That’s quite annoying Mimz. We rely so much on our computers for everything, and when they’re not operational… well, we’re just a little bit lost. Don’t worry, we will be here when you get back up and running. Maybe take advantage of your electronic vacation? Get some work done around the house, go for some walks, try and do something fun! (Bond some bunnies… lol. Sorry, I couldn’t help myself!)

  Nothing makes me more irritated than a computer acting up. Grrrr…. My last computer did the same thing. It just froze up and we lost all of our documents and pictures so I know how much it sucks.
  
  Will miss you Mimzy! I don’t suppose you live near any internet cafes?

  Weekly backups!!! External drives are so cheap these days, for less than $100 you can get one that will hold all the data on your hard drive. Back up weekly and that way the most you lose is whatever was added/changed since the last backup. Unfortunately I’ve learned this lesson from experience. Also unfortunately I don’t always get my weekly backup done, this is an excellent reminder to do it this weekend.

  Take Care!! Ditto Anette-we run a four tb raid system so it backs everything up twice…well I think. I’m acting like I know about this stuff, it’s really Dave and I’m sharing like I know..but I guess the point is we can figure how to get you back on here!!! I have something to send you, but our post is on strike…have to investigate ups or something…I’m not school’d in this domain. But coming soon-will warn you

  Well, I’ve done what I can and am continuing to try to make my own copies of the essentials (bunny pix) and some other files that it would suck to have scrambled…but most of my CD burning programs are ancient and were incompatible with Windows when I got this thing about 9 years ago or so…I’m probably taking the tower in to town tomorrow. Was going to go today, but the weather is yuck and neither hubby or I felt like taking the trip…plus loose ends to tie up, etc. If I’m lucky, I might be able to get online on occasion using his laptop at his business line, but that’s going to be tricky as that PC is also a dinosaur and not good at picking up current sites and content.
  
  I was bummed last night because so little of my efforts were successful even though I was up till almost 5 AM trying, and I just can’t imagine losing all this precious data in case something goes very wrong. I should’ve kept up with this stuff, if not in making copies then at least in my education, I could’ve enjoyed being able to do this kind of work myself. I’m assuming a small fortune will be expended for my stupidity/laziness.
  
  Soooo…I’m going to tool around onsite for a bit then get back to trying a few more transfers, then we’ll pack the bugger up for tomorrow and I’ll see you all in…well it could take 3 weeks but I don’t think I can survive that long without BB.com (WAAAAAHHH!!!)…anyway, if something amazing happens like I get the bunnies bonded (lol @ Beka) or I win a million dollars, I’ll be in to let you know somehow! ^_^
