Well he’s not really a “mystery rabbit” as you’ve sort of met him before. It’s Jellybeans!
If you’re not sure who that is, Kafrns thread will give you the background: https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tab…fault.aspx
They did well like this and seem to enjoy it. But if didn’t hold onto Timbu this way, he’d then chasing Beans around the pen and honking. I didn’t allow that too much because JBean would have been to freaked out.
These pics were taken a few weeks ago. So fast fwd to now…
well, Jelly is having a stay with me and may stay permanently as Timbu’s mate. Fingers crossed.
Kafrn & I had talked about my taking Maia (the mother) or Jellybeans. Turns out Maia got on well with Stubob, then intergrated well into the group. We thought having just one mate might suit Jellybeans better though. So he’s with me on a trial period. He is very sweet! He’s younger then Timbu but the same size. I think he’s about 12wks? My vet likes to neuter at 6 months of age but I’m hoping I can get Tim Tim and Jelly done reasonable close together. At the moment they are housed separately.
So there you go. Looks like I’m heading towards having 2 pairs. ![]()
Eeeee!!! Bunneh love is in the air! I can’t wait to see a million pictures of them, especially once they’re bonded in a couple months.
What handsome buns. I can’t wait for more pics too.
He’s adorable! They’re adorable together! I don’t know how I missed Kafrn’s post from last month. Hope it all goes very good and the bonding is smooth! They’ll figure out how to be around each other. Sounds like Timbu just needs to learn to calm down a bit. lol
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee cutes!!!!!!!!!
what a cute “couple”!
I keep meaning to ask…Jellybeans doesn’t seem to have many facial whiskers. No cheek ones or any above the eye. Is this unusual? Maybe they’ll grow sometime.
ETA: I just noticed in the picture it looks like he has some. I just had a closer look (he gave me grooms!!!) and he has a some shortish ones under and around the mouth but that’s it.
Mimzy’s whiskers are kind of hard to spot. I wonder if it’s just the brown color of the bun that makes it hard sometimes. And most of the ones he has are not grand by any means. Perhaps these bunnies just don’t grow long whiskers?
Could JB be part rex? They have tiny, but curly/nappy whiskers…real short and close to the face.
BTW I just have to say…..HA! *points finger* lol…just kidding…I think it’s lovely that you may have the total of four now. But how does that sit with the rest of your household?
*sigh* There goes my plan to bun-nap Timbu and add him as MY fourth! *shrugs*
Yeah I thought that about part rex too. But Maia (his mum) appears to have regular whiskers and I think the sire (sigh-ugh!) was her brother.
But how does that sit with the rest of your household?
Human or bunny occupants? Lol.
Well Timbu has been with me since Feb and there is marking going on in the corridor outside my bedroom. So having Jelly in there also has made little difference to J&R. He hasn’t been here for a full week yet.
I think Jersey senses the different smell though. She’s still antsy about TimTims smell on me but has gotten more used to it. She reacts with what I think is fear aggression to their scents. I added a video in “How people see rabbits as pets” thread of her reaction to Jellys scent. She’s really feral about it. I saw this with her reaction to Timbu also & it has calmed down some. It’s kind of hard to help her with that other then get her accustomed to the scent and learn their is no threat to her. So I keep things as normal as possible for J&R in routines and areas they can access. Obviously my bedroom is off limits to them now though.
btw, I think Timbu is becoming Tim Tims offical name. lol I found out it means Possum in portuguese so that suits him. Did I already say that?
Holy cow, I have Portugee background and I didn’t know that! lol….
I can’t comment to the name unless he tends to curl his tail around your shower rod and sleeps hanging upside down? ^_^
Off to try to view the vid…
Pretty sure it can’t be worse than when Pip gets all uppity.
wow~~~
Tim is stunning!!!! Wow!!!!
Jelly eeeeeeee!!!! so cute!
Soooo cute!! OK I’ll have to go see that video-I missed it somehow…*scratches head*
*screams*
I was just looking at the picture of their faces almost touching again…isn’t it awesome the difference in the shape of Timbu’s nose compared to JB’s? Just look at it, it’s fascinating!
I have the same quirk with comparing Hello Kitty’s face (elongated) with Tooey’s (shorter, stubbier nose)…so yeah, I’m weird like that.
Just to say that, Timbu is by far one of the most unusual bunnies I’ve ever seen…coloring and construction.
I wonder if he might be part Belgian Hare or something?
They are both so adorable. They compliment each other really well. Love the last pic.
I’m glad you took JellyBeans. He deserves a loving home.
I was wondering how Kafrn’s bunnies were doing. Haven’t seen her around in a little while.
How did I miss this thread! EEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! He is so cute! They are so cute!
Oh! heheheee Mocha! I saw the title in the general forums list and thought “Who’s got pictures of TimTim and some mystery rabbit?” *head desk*
I’d forgotten.
I don’t know how you missed it but glad you bumped it because the post date helped me work out how long Jelly has been with me. I was losing track. By the way, there’s a “Jellybean2” aka “JB2” but he’s not mine. He’s Kafrns rabbit but looks just like mine. So my Jellybean goes by the name Jelly now. lol
haha. He sure is cute. MUST HAVE MORE PICS!
