I bought Marge one year and one month after I bought Essie. The two bunnies hated each other from the start, so I searched on the internet to find advice on how to bond two female unspayed (Right term?). The articles were pretty negative and said it was impossible. So I admitted defeat and just let them live seperate for a year.  But after someone told me about this forum and I read it isn’t impossible, I am ready to try. The problem is, I don’t know where to start. I have read the advice on binkybunny about bonding, but I don’t know what to do first. Essie and Marge have fought several times in the past. One time was intense and I had to break them up, resulting in a pretty bloody cut on my hand. Although Marge is younger by a year and month, she acts more dominent. Does anyone have any 1-2-3 guideline and walkthough on how to start the bonding and onward?

I’m actually nervous about bonding them.

Don’t even try bonding unspayed females, it won’t work. Spay first, then bond. My 2 girls are bonded fine, but they are both fixed.

Unspayed girls are very aggressive and territorial to other rabbits that come into their territory. It’s just safer to spay them first. Especially considering the health benefits of spaying

Thanks. I’ll look into vets to get it done.

I agree with Monkey. They have to be spayed. The first step in bonding any pair (especially females!) is to spay/neuter. That being said, there is no guarantee they WILL be able to bond after the surgery, but the risk of reproductive cancer is too high not do it.
