        Hi all,

Just thought I would say Hi, let you know I’m still around and kicking
A little update; I took in two shelter bunnies around X-mas temporarly till spring…. It’s June and I still have them. I’e decided to keep Puff the older Lionhead as she has mobility issues and need special attention and care.

After taking in the two bunnies, Bubba got so stressed chewing off so much of his fur (& chewing at his skin) and loosing so much weight he was skin and bones. It was decided he needed to live stress-free in a quiet area with no bunnies, as not only being a sensitive bunny he is also totally blind in one eye and a large cateract in the other, We believe Buddies dominant and agressive additude in the Bunny room was part of Bubbas stress. Bubba moved upstairs in my office where I sit on the computer and chat with him all day LOL, He also has a treat ball to play with and keep him occupied it was a sure hit, he LOVES it.
Bubba has since gained back weight and the overgrooming slowed down, but last week i found bites on his skin again, so we went back to the Vet to find Bubba has mites. i was shocked and disapointend in myself, as all these years with shelter and rescue animals in and out of my house I’ve been so careful. but I know it can hapen to anyone… I still wish it hadn’t been me.

I weighed everyone, calculated their doses and medicated them. The next day I stripped my rabbit room tossing stuff out, washing and bleaching everything. Then i decided it was time to have Puff move in with my group of three; Baby, Ani & Kyoto. This bond includes Buddy right now, no one particularly likes him, so it’s still a bit tense in the cage but things are settling and no ones been bit. I still plan on returning him to the shelter… but i’m not kidding myself… he may end up staying here though i really should not keep him.

PitStop is stil living the good life in my home, though we are going to make him a cage to stay in when we are not home or sleeping, as he has started peeing on my carpet daily, i am having a hard time keeping up with the cleaning and my carpets are holding the stains Pitters was sick a while ago, my Vet told me he was old and dying. I told her that wasn’t it and nursed him back to health. I’ve seen a 3 foot Binkie from him a while ago, and he runs free in my backyard whenever I am out there. He may be old but he’s still full of life (and trouble)

I am off work on stress leave, so no money coming in. I had Surgery in April, all went well. I am planning my wedding that is in September this year (AACK 2 Months!!!), and working on overcoming my Anxity disorder that has been a big hurdle this year. So.. yeah that’s about it. I’ll try and attatch a picture of the new group of 5 during their first day together. Once they are getting along better I will re-do my rabbit room again, giving them a bigger space and rebuilding them a condo

Bottom Left: Buddy, Top left: Ani, Middle: Puff, Hiding in the hut: Baby, and far right Kyoto.

Hey, glad to hear from you! We were wondering where you’ve been!

Sorry to hear about the troubles you were having with Bubba (and the mites!!! ). Glad he has gained weight back.

How old is Pitstop? That’s awful that your vet just said “he’s old and dying”. I’m glad to hear he, as well, is doing good now.

We have a lot in common: I also have anxiety and stress that lead to me being off work. It’s something extremely hard to conquer. And I’m planning my wedding for October!

Would love to see the pic but it’s not working.

                  Yeay, I did it! lol

We don’t know, he was found abandond in his cage on the side of a hwy. I’ve had him 4 years i think now, and he lived with another foster Mom for a year i think.  She honestly thought it was just his little old bunny body failing him from age, But I told her just how active crazy he is, still zooming around my house and trying to raid the fridge when you open it.
That’s neat, How’s your wedding coming along? I have so little time to get everything done it’s crazy. We’re having a small private ceremony at a Horse Ranch up country, it’s so beautiful. I am going with a Fall Theme for my colours.

Yeah.. I wanna see the pic too Or else, I’m going to steal Kyoto! Please, more Kyoto pics!

Come take Him! lol… He’s here because no one wants him LOL, he’s a total SPAZ. The bunny who was supposed to be here 2 months has been here 3 years. I have grown an attachment to the little weirdo bunny though, so you may need to fight me for him these days :p hehehe

I had to take Buddy out of the group today. it was just to much stress on the other bunnies, his humping on Puff and trying to hump the other bunnies wasn’t slowing and then he started picking on Kyoto where I had to separate them from a ball as they bit onto each others face Both have pulled hair and some scabs. I love little Buddy but he just dosn’t fit in with my mild tempered older bunnies.
After his mite treatment is done he will go back to the large bunny group he was with at the shelter (as he was supposed to 2 months ago).

I’m almost finished PitStops new cage, just needs one more coat of paint. It’s going to be in my living room under our large front window. I want to make a solid top for it where I can put some of my plants. One good thing about Pitters is he doesn’t jump on furnitre, he hates being up on it, so as long as my plant are that high they are safe from him.

Welcome back and welcome to your new bunnies!

I’m glad you figured out what was up with Bubba, though I’m sure it’s so frustrating to end up with something like mites. Good thing they’re with a good bunny momma!

And congrats on your wedding! They can be so stressful, but I’m sure it will be a fantastic day and it will all be worth it.

Hey Andi! *waves* Good to see you and your bunnies! You have been missed! Wow, lots of great plans and busy days coming up for you it would seem. 0_o Congrats on your upcoming wedding! Autumn is full of glorious colors to use for this momentous occasion.
Surgery in springtime is never fun. Or any other time of year for that matter. Glad to hear it went well though. I’m an anxiety patient also, it is not as bad now as it has been in years past, but sometimes it creeps back up on me.
That is a rotten thing for a vet to say about a bunny…piffle to her! Pitters sounds in top form despite it.
Ugh…mites! I went through a scare with that last year…nasty little buggers, I was lucky and we dodged that bullet.
Your bunny area looks lovely! I hope to bond my three this year sometime (everyone is probably getting sick of hearing me talk about it and is more interested in me actually doing the job…lol!) and it will be so nice to have one area like that, instead of three habitats to clean!

The white bunny with the grey nose is Puff the lionhead. She doesn’t like to be touched or handled but she’s a real sweet natured bunny. She was a dumped Breeders Bunny, has the breeders tattoo in her ear. Her and Baby have hit it off, she’s always snuggled up with him now. All four bunnies are back to their selves, happy and stress free from Buddy.
I will be moving and making their cage larger once Buddy is back at the shelter, and I will see if I can bond Bubba back into that group. (Fingers Crossed)

MimzMum, My wedding is fall themed, Cranberry & Burnt orange are my colours We are also having a small wedding on a 100 year old Horse Ranch up country, it’s so beautiful (Trees, a Lake, old country log buildings and of course Horses!) When we get back we’ll have a big party to have all our friends celebrate with us since I could only invite family as the ranch has only so much space. Yesterday we ordered our Wine, I am getting the invitations done Tuesday, I’m putting together my decorations. I have borrowed most of my stuff to cut down on costs, even my dress is borrowed, I could never spend $500 on a dress I wear once never mind MORE then that. So I’ll wear someone elses $2G dress hehehe :p

I have to still put PitStops new cage together (large dog crate), I’ve finished sanding and repainting it.

I hope everyone’s bun’s are well, I’ve been thinking of you all and each of them.

                                BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

I’ve been sort of playing with the idea of having a very informal wedding at the riding stable where I keep my horse. It’s very beautiful there but I worry about the unpredictable Fall weather. We tend to get a lot of rain here in the Fall. But I love the idea of a Fall wedding…it’s always been my very favourite season. And as a horse-crazy little girl I always wanted to have my future horse in my wedding!  I would love to have Winnie in some of my pictures. So I’m really going to put more thought into having it at the stable. It would be really cheap to rent the grounds for a day compared to most of the prices of banquet halls I’ve looked at.

Do you have your dress yet?

I know this is a bit of an older post, but I thought I would give an update once again.
July has been a terrible month for me, Not only loosing two human family members but 3 of my precious fur babies.

Bubba ended up having heart failure and I had to put him to sleep, it was a terrible loss specially since he (and his brother) was my first bunny, and had been a constant companion for me this year, as he lived in my computer room.
It was the loss of PitStop that even now I can’t think of without crying. I’m not sure anyone will ever know what that little bunny meant to me. We had a rough run with him, I had been treating him for pasturella, and he had not been feeling well that week. He was doing really well one night and over did it, causing him to go into respiratory distress where we believe caused a seizure. I was giving him CPR, and my hubby ran and brought in our O2 bottle from the garage, we were able to get him back on his feet and rushed him to the emergency hospital. We took him home after and i set up my own O2 chamber with a humidifier the oxygen bottle and a crate with a towel over it. He was still eating and would perk up on and off. I took him to my Vet we did X-Rays and found one of his lungs being squished with fluid.
With my recent losses and the fact that Pitters was perking up, and his other lung was fine and we could see his heart (Bubba’s heart was not visible from the fluid around his lungs) we decided we would try and remove the fluid and see how much time that gave him…. we thought if it was infection caused by pasturella then antibiotics would also help.
I sat with him during the procedure, he did well and came home with me, but that night he passed away. I have no regrets because he passed away peacefully in his own home, with me in his bed.
One lesson I learned from this experience is if your bunny starts sleeping/laying down and putting the front paws under/behind them to bring them to the Vet and have an x-ray. This sleeping position helps expand the lungs/chest cavity from pressure of the shoulder blades. PitStop had been doing this and I just thought it strange.
My Vet sent the fluids we removed for testing and NO infection was found (very surprising), it ended up that Pitters had Cancer in his chest and it was causing the fluid to build up. So though we tried everything, in the end there would have been nothing we could have done to save him.

A week(ish) ago I took Puff the lionhead in to be put down. She was having too much trouble getting around, and her little front legs could no longer hold the weight of her body. It was a sad goodbye.
At the same time as i said goodbye to Puff, I found blood in Baby’s urine. My Vet and I decided we would treat it like a bladder infection with antibiotics, but if it didn’t go away it probably meant cancer. I’m relieved to say i have not seen anymore blood in his urine.

After all this I have decided to keep Buddy. These losses where to much for me in such a short time, and the living area of my house has felt so empty. I have to admit I really enjoy how clean it is now, without litter boxes and such. Though I have been giving Buddy run of my house during the evenings, and he’s not wrecked a thing He is on a diet, and getting lots of TLC and exercise. I am enjoying his silly personality.

I’ve also been able to help other people who live around me with their rabbits. I met a complete stranger and started talking about rabbits, she had taken in some and one was ill, so I told her to bring it to my place and I would look it over. I cleaned up the bunny, cleaned her wound and recommended my vet for treatment. And the last week a new friends rabbit was having stasis issues and they needed to head out for the day, so I took her bunny in and got her feeling better and eating again.
So though I can’t foster anymore rabbits, I am still trying to help those I can, and it feels good.

I get married in a months time, and all that has kept me busy. I have a food dehydrator on my wedding registry in hopes I can get one and start making my bunnies their own home made treats. Though I won’t tell anyone that’s why I want one LOL, I’m sure I’d just get the rolling eyes and “oh yeah u and your bunnies” :p

I hope everyone here is doing well, I’m going to do some reading and catch up on what’s been happening.

Oh, Andi, I’m so very sorry to hear of the losses of your beautiful babies. I can’t even imagine how hard that must have been. I know that there is nothing I can say to take the pain away but I want you to know that I’m thinking of you. Your bunnies were so lucky to have you as their Mom, they could not have been in a better home.

I’m glad you decided to keep Buddy and I hope you find lots of happiness giving him his forever home. And it’s so wonderful how you are helping other rabbits in need as well.

I’m wishing you lots of luck and happiness for your wedding day. And I hope the rest of August goes well for you. **Hugs** I’m glad to hear from you but I wish it wasn’t in these circumstances.

                                              Thanks Ladies
I’ve been getting some good 1-on-1 bunny time lately, that always makes the day a little brighter Yesterday I spent the day in bed napping with Baby, he’s just so funny. I gave him a towel and when he wasn’t snuggled sleeping with me he was playing in the towel digging and pushing it all over.
It was also the first time he had the run of the house and didn’t wreck a thing!
I saw some bunnies at the local fair in the 4H area, they had a couple Jersey Wooly’s there both younger bunnies, and I have to say my Old man was a lot better looking them both LOL, and he’s over 7 years old.

                                                      Hi Andi

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been thru this heartbreak recently. We’ve been missing hearing about your rabbits but understand life can get real busy. Especially with all the wonderful care you give all your furbabies!

It was good Bubba had that extra time with you before he passed. He reminds me a lot of my Rumball. And little Pitters had lots of special attention from you guys. I’m sure Whizzer is looking out for the boys and Puff.
***Binky free Bubba, Pitters and Puff***

I love the little update on Baby. That bun makes me laugh just looking at his cuteness!

Best wishes for the approaching wedding. Here’s hoping some happier times are coming your way.

lol… Kyoto has the biggest ‘boobs’ now and on top of that he’s shedding like crazy and looks terrible LOL. His man boobs are from 3 large fatty lumps in his dewlap, they are non cancerous and have stopped growing. After everyone’s done shedding and had a good brushing I’ll get some new updated pictures

Three of my bunnies are on shavings, it’s a mess but Baby would never learn to litter train, even after two years of trying. So I gave up. Everyone else uses litter boxes, Spencer & Suzy have immaculate litter habits which is nice, though they also like digging their litter out of the tray some days.

I just picked up my borrowed dress tonight, I tried it on again and it doesn’t fit. My weddings one month away. So now I’m in a mad rush to find a new one… Like I needed that stress lol

Jersey, thanks I believe Whizz is very busy taking care of all those bunnies I made Ry a Shadowbox of Whizz, it has a few pictures, her tags and collar. I wanted it as a wedding gift but I couldn’t wait to give it to him.
I have added these odd tube shaped photo holders on my gift registry. There are 4 photo tubes per frame. I plan on putting each of my bunnies pictures in each tube, and then inserting a small canister of their ashes hidden inside each photo. This way I can keep the ashes but they are hidden, and I still get a nice way to remember my buns (Plus this would take up less space then the urns I never liked anyway).

There seems to be so much I have missed recently. I have a lot of cute photos to look through

That sucks about your dress. You may still be able to find some discount prom dresses in stores. I bought mine like 2 weeks ago at the mall. It’s white and very wedding-ish. I got a $400.00 dress for $100.00.

Woot, Dress disaster diverted LOL. I am borrowing my other friends and it fits well (Plus is GORGEOUS!). I am having it taken in on Wednesday so it will fit better (She’s much bigger chested then me lol). My mother bought me a pair of adorable shoes, though I’m not sure they are going to work with the dress, so Friday I am shoe shopping.

Thursday my Degu Bruce passed away. I’m getting a little worn on the fact all my pets are so old these days. Bruce was older then dirt, survived so many illnesses and infections I had actually taken him to the Vet to be PTS two other times in the past years when I thought he couldn’t make it. Each time he miraculously recovered. My Vet always joked “He’s not Old, He’s Geriatric!”. No matter his age he was always so active, even spent a lot of his time free run in my home. His favorite thing was to sunbath at the backdoor.

My Vet has told me to space out my pets next time, and that I am not to see her again for a while, as it seems I have only seen her in the last two months to have someone put down

Oh, little Bruce! I’m sorry. : ( I was going to ask after him in my previous post
I suppose you knew he wouldn’t be around much longer but that doesn’t make you miss them less when they do go.

I’ve been wanting to ask you to clarify this position a bit more if you don’t mind. Is this when sitting in a bunny loaf or sleeping on the side?

Good news on the dress! Back on track – phew!

The position is more the bunny loaf, but with the front legs out back/behind the chest/body. The bunny can even be stretched out with the back legs as well, so not just hunched.

Hunching over can also help expand the chest as well, and usually is followed by hard breathing or gasping Poor Ol Bruce was getting to that stage when I took him in.

Kind of think of trying to put your elbows together behind your back and how that opens your chest some.

I couldn’t believe I found EXACTLY what I wanted. Flat gold knotted sandals. They will look gorgeous with my dress. And they were marked down to $25.00! I couldn’t believe my luck. Yesterday I bought a hairpiece on Etsy. So now I have all my outfit except a strapless bra and jewelry. I can’t wait to try everything on together.

I bought my strapless pushup bra at La Senza, and my corset at The Bay. I found those ‘all in one’ deals didn’t have very good support.  I bought my accessories cheap as well, and all matching with silver flowers and pearls.

I’m just on my way now for my dress fitting.

As for Bunny stuff, Baby’s been feeling a bit off, his poops show it. But he was having a fun time running around the yard with me yesterday, and have a nap during the day with me on the bed… of course with an extra towel for him to play in

Still need to get my bra and jewelry (cheapie jewelry) and my flower girl’s their dresses. Ricky is getting his tux on Saturday. My wedding colours are dark purple and orange; all the girls will be purple and the boys will be orange. Just a small wedding party; my sister is my bridesmaid, we have 1 Best Man and my 2 nieces and nephew will be Flower Girls and Ring bearer. Our ring bearer is 2 so we will see how that goes! Yesterday I went to the hall we’re renting and seen what it looks like decorated and it’s really nice.

Then I bought some of my hair decorations at Claire’s. My guys are wearing Orange ties, my Maid of Honor is now wearing Cranberry as her orange dress didn’t match the ties. My Colours are Burnt Orange and Cranberry, it’s fall themed. I love Purple and Orange those are my favorite colours! You have to post some pictures after the wedding!
