I have been noticing how different people react to different breeds of bunnies on here….so if you would all please take part in this survey so to speak.
Here is the idea…..this is just a “what if” type idea…if you could have any breed of bun you have wanted, reguardless of space, money, time, the buns you already have, if none of that mattered…
What breed of bun would you have?
I have noticed the breed to get the most attention are holland lops….please say below the breed of your dreams……
Either stick with a Nethie or go to a Flemish. Ha. There is no in between with me!!! ![]()
I would love a flemish or checkered giant. I love giant dogs, so why not giant buns? I also like the nethies. Maybe it is the itty bitty ears.
I’m happy with my Lionhead, although eventually adding a Lop might be an option ![]()
I have yet to encounter a bunny of any size, shape, breed, ear type, eye color, fur color, etc that didn’t make me go, “Awww, I will hug him and pet him and squeeze him and pat him and pet him and I will name him George.” Well ok, maybe not the George part. lol. There are definitely things I like about certain kinds of bunnies… but then I see a different type of bunny and go, aww but that completely opposite trait is also so cute! So I don’t really think I could pick. ![]()
I like my current nethies because of their great energy and spunk, but I think if I have my own house I’d like to have many kinds of bunnies. It’s just not possible at the moment. Though right now, I think a mini-rex would be a nice one to have besides nethies.
When we started looking for a bunny as a family pet, I was thinking french lop. They tend to have really calm dispositions and act almost dog like around their humans. Even though Porky is a mutt, he has the same kind of disposition.
I was thinking about getting an angora for a while, since I spin yarn but don’t have a big enough yard for sheep or alpacas. They don’t show up at the pound very often though.
The little human has been really obsessed with flemish giants, and want to get one to be Porky’s “friend.”
the wooly breeds- angoras, jersey woolies, fuzzy lops, ect- are my favorites, hence rue. i really want a mini or holland lop. i’d also love a lionhead, a japanese harlequin, a tort dutch, or a fawn mini rex. hehe a girl can dream, right?!? i’d never really thought about flemish giants, but now that i have puppet, i’m so glad i ended up with one!
I’m quite fond of Dutches – they’re supposed to be quite an intelligent breed, not to mention their beautiful coloration. The two Dutches I’ve had have been absolutely no exception. Particularly, Peppy is far too clever for her own good sometimes…![]()
I would have every color and breed imaginable… cuz I am an addict.
Whats a nethie? This thread needs pics for the newbies LOL

here’s a list of breeds with pictures…
http://www.arba.net/Breeds.htm
This is a nethie: netherland dwarf

One of the smallest breeds of bunneh, with itty bitty ears
Awwww cute!! Check out that English Angora 😮
I gotta ask, are any of those native anywhere?? What are the origins of those rabbits with such long fuR?
I love my herd I have a mix of everything, and all bunnies make me sqweeeeee so I don’t have a preference.
OneTwoThree, I don’t think that any of the rabbit show breeds are “native” anywhere…they are just the result of of a long process of deliberate breeding to fit our desires and needs. Genetically modified organisms if you will, lol.
I’ve always wanted a large flemish giant. Something about them just pull at my heartstrings.
All domestic rabbits are descended from wild European rabbits.

It’s pretty crazy if you really think about it!
I will always be partial to lops as Eddie was my first bunny. I’d love to have a flemish one day. And an angora, jersey wooly, nethie, dutch……..pretty much ANY bunny. And let’s not forget mini rexes! lol I would prefer my next bunny to be another lop, but as there are so many different breeds available, it will just depends on which little rescue bunny me and Lolli fall in love with. ![]()
My breed of choice?
Diva.

Rexes <3

…and all bunnies make me sqweeeeee so I don’t have a preference. – Lintini
Ditto that. If it’s bunny, I love it.
MonkeyBun and a few other members have shown a preference for the Thock breed. This also originated out of Europe, the UK to be precise. The early one was a pearl grey with some colouration on the ears and body. Now they come in just about every colouration and I think there is a dwarfed version too.
Also, Rhinelanders have *such* beautiful coloring, they take my breath away.

I’d buy the biggest rabbit I could find o.o
What is the Thock breed?
I do love flemmies and I would love to have one, but my first love will always be hollands. I just melt when I see their cute little faces.
Holland lops!! So obvious since I have three of them.
Monkeybun, I love the picture with Monkey next to the soda can. I laughed…what a good picture to show the size of Nethie.

I love the way that lionheads look but I would never own one. Shedding season would make me want to pull my own hair out! I like flemmies, big feet and big ears! I think I would enjoy having a tiny bun that binkied alot!

Big bun binkies are hilarious though! Hannah’s not even big (5.5lbs) but when she binkies I call them ”Fat Girl Binkies”. So cute! She’s like a big chubby bunny trying to leap into the air and it’s the opposite of graceful. Her vet swears she’s not overweight, but I call them Fat Girl Binkies anyway. lol
I am very partial to lionheads I want them all! Or really any fuzzy breed lol.
But I would also love to have
Mini rex
Creme d’Argent
Thrianta
Silver Marten
Palomino <—- REALLY REALLY want one
Himalayan…
Ok really just give me one of each breed and I will be happy.
i can’t seem to quote with my nook.
livingonfaith- your post made me giggle. MY tiny bun (rue) seldom binkies, but giant nut puppet binkies all the time! it’s hilarious!
I’m new to bunnies, but I think I prefer the tinier breeds. I have a Lion Head, but there’s a lot of variation in the appearance of that breed. Mine doesn’t have the full mane around her head the way some do, and I’ve no idea if she’ll end up losing her mane as she gets older – apparently she might – and no idea how long her hair will ultimately be. They’re still one of the cutest breeds I’ve seen, imo. Of the recognized breeds, I think the Thrianta is awfully cute. It’s probably extremely rare, though. I also like the sleek-looking type that looks like a hare, even though it’s bigger. To be honest, rabbits are just so adorable it’s hard to choose.
Not really a breed I guess, but my favorite was my little Agouti, Hershey, she looked just like a wild cotton tail,
but really partial to Lola’s soft rex fur, Pringles and Charlies humongous feet, Daisy’s cute dutch butt, Tobys toothy smile and Simba’s Lionhead fuzzy mane.
I go by personality rather than breed. I like the smart, opinionated buns!

I love all breeds of bunnies, I can’t just choose one but of course I love the lops! If I ever wanted to get another bunny I wouldn’t care what breed it was, that would all be up to Dexter lol
this awsome!! thank you sooo much everyone!! keep it coming!! i LOVE this!!!
I personally LOOOOOVE flemmies! always have and rexes.
i wouldnt own a lop, i think they are very cute but not my cup of tea. i read i think it was Yup, thats me post about liking giant dog breeds, so why not giant bun breeds….i am the same way! i have 2 giant dogs (mastiff and a great dane), lol both of my horses are large (16hh and one 17.2 and still growing?) and i have 2 big bunnies (flemmie mix and pure flemmie) then there is ginju…the smallest pet i own, i love her to death and she is amazing! i just love her attitude compared to the flemmies…such a princess!!!
big flemmies or rex’s (FUZZY!) but i have an american and that silky fur is irresistable.
Wow such a hard question! Some of the cutest buns I have seen have been “muts” so to speak. My friend’s bunny had a little mohawk because she had long hair on top of her head and nowhere else which was adorable. I also love the little half lops that have the helicopter ears
I love them all really! I think a Flemish would be neat just because they are so big and different. I also have a soft spot for loppies obviously and would love a Fuzzy Lop. Then there’s the buns I would steal from other members, haha, (ie Dexter, Monkey, Jack, etc etc etc) hehe ![]()
I’m probably just like everyone else when I say I think my bun is the cutest in the world . . . so yeah, I’d have to say Dutch. ![]()
