My dad is very much of the “rabbits belong outside” mentality.   As I’ve said several times, it was a huge ordeal to get him to let her be inside.  And since he learned how much her lettuce cost, he’s been griping about that.   “why does she need lettuce?  that’s what pellets are for.”    I have always factored in her lettuce into my grocery budget.  I can usually get $30 from for my own groceries.  I am still not back at work so I borrow money from my dad for groceries.  Him and I do not eat a like at all.  Anyways…..

Tonite he calls to let me know he’s stopping by the store to get a few things.  I ask if he can pick up her lettuce.  A big tub of the organic spring mix is around $4.50.  He gripes about the price and how he doesn’t have money for this and he’s not buying it.  So I’m thinking that I’ll just go get it myself later on.  But when he got home, he pleasantly surprised me by buying my baby girl her lettuce!!!    

(And if he knew how much I paid for my 1/2 gallon of organic milk, he’d really freak out. )
