Oxbow is probably the most popular. It’s available on many websites, a Google search will reveal this site, as well as Drs Foster and Smith, and I PetSmart sells online and in some stores.

Oxbow Bunny Basics 15/23 is the alfalfa formula (for babies under 7 months).

Oxbow Bunny Basics T is the timothy formula (for adults 7 months and up). Timothy can be fed instead of alfalfa without much of an issue.

(This thread is going to be moved to the Diet and Care subforum within the next day.)

edited to add:   Do not feed pellet mixes.  Just plain pellets.  No cereal pieces, dried fruits/veggies, seeds, corn.  It’s all very bad for rabbits.

It prevents them from eating the pellets which contain the necessary nutrients. Buns will pick out the tastier, sweeter bits and leave the pellets. The mixes can also contribute to obesity. The bulk of their diet should be grass hay, followed by a minimum of 2 cups of fresh green veggies daily, and then a small amount of plain pellets (about 1/4 cup for an adult, 5 pound rabbit).

This is a good link that breaks everything down:   http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/diet.html

Bunnymad111, are you in the UK? (your mention of RSPCA + Pets at Home indicates you might be…)

Some brands I’m aware of in the UK are Burgess Excell and Science Selective. I believe Oxbow may be available thru online sites also.

Basically, you want a pellet to be no more then 16% protein, no less the 20% fibre and no more then 3% fat. The first ingredient listed should be a grass meal. Unless it’s one for young rabbits in which the 1st ingredient is likely to be alfalfa meal.

We use the term “RSPCA” here also. So when a member refers to it, I usually fiigure they’re posting from Aus or UK.
