If you have a horse feed store, you can probably find some horse stall bedding there. It’s similar to woodstove pellets, but you don’t have to worry about added accelerants. Make sure to get pellets, and not shavings. It’s cheap too!

A grid over top the litter may be an option to stop the digging.

Shredded paper in a box is a great dig box.

Eddie kicked his litter out of his box too. Never really stopped. But he was a weirdo and had to make a potty spot before he’d go. Like a cat does. Dig dig dig, pat pat pat, dig, pat, turn around and go. Seriously took him like 10 minutes to go because of this. Meanwhile, Lolli just hops in and goes.

Moose has a box with shredded paper for digging. He doesn’t hop in it much, but when he does, he’s at it for hours.

My bunnies only dig in their litter box when they are mad at me or want my attention! Haha no joke. Smart little boogers

Mine did not start digging until after he was neutered. He had two areas with phone books or paper to dig in, but every so often he wanted to dig in the litterbox. I got very tired of vacuuming up the litter from his home, so I switched to a litterbox with screens from BB. It works. I just keep a thin layer of hay over the screen to be sure his feet are protected

Hannah did this for a while and I had to get screens for both of the boxes. She doesn’t have a dedicated diggy box, but she has a phone box and some boxes she can destroy. If I gave her anything else to dig in she’d probably mistake it for a litter box

Baxter has always done it. He has a big hay box he digs in but will still kick up his litter. I use litter like the wood stove pellets. I’ve tried them all & these are the best for my bun.
