I have a couch that sits off the floor a few inches on legs and my bun keeps wanting to go under it, its an older couch so it sags in the middle and when you sit on it it gets pretty low so I don’t want him to get squashed. I had pillows under it as a temporary block but now that hes gotten older hes realized he can just pull them right out. He’s pretty strong too! Does anyone have any ideas of what I could use to keep him out? I don’t have a car so buying a 2×4 or something won’t really be a possibility and I have those white gate things but theyre too tall to put in front of the couch!

        thanks!

I will have to see if I can find some that will fit! Thanks for the idea

If you can get a few cardboard boxes, flattened, and stack them inside of each other bent in half, then wedge that underneath, he shouldn’t be able to pull it out. He might chew on it tho.

Tearing the paper off cardboard is one of his favourite things to do actually. I’ll have to save up some boxes and try it. Thanks

We had to wedge some cardboard under our entertainment stand when Meadow was still small enough to fit underneath. It worked well.

Yeah, he should eventually outgrow being able to go under there but I thought Sammy was finally big enough to no longer fit, and he hadn’t gone under the couch in months, but last night all of a sudden he somehow squished under it again lol

He’s about 9 months old now and I think hes just about done growing as he hasn’t gotten much bigger in a few months, hes a Holland Lop so he isnt that big but the couch is about 3-5 inches off the floor and hes really good at squishing himself right down and slithering under like a worm lol

If the couch has removable feet, and you don’t mind loosing a few inches, another option is to drop it down to the ground.
