Hi Everyone,
BunBun has had poopy butt problems for a long time now. I finally thought I solved it- I stopped giving him all greens except for his herbs, parsley and cilantro. His poopy butt diminished greatly. but now I’ve noticed his poops have been TINY in the past few days.
I’m thinking that the extreme change in diet and reduced fluid intake because of the lack of greens is affecting BunBun. He’s not much of a water drinker, so he used to get lots of fluid from lettice, Swiss chard and chicory- big huge bowls of them 3 tmes a day. Tonight he only took a few bites of his dinner
. He usually goes crazy for his dinner cuz he gets bananas/apples. He sometimes just does this, then recovers for no reason, but the small poops have me worried.
He’s eating hay, as always, and was having a tablespoon of alfalfa pellets daily lately. I’m out of the timothy pellets. I stopped feeding pellets for a while, then started them again when I stopped his greens because I was worried about nutritional deficiencies. Now I’m realizing, that’s TWO diet changes in one week- not too smart of me.
SO I took away the pellets and gave him a little Swiss chard. He gobbled it right up- I think he missed it. I’m just not sure what to do- start small amounts of greens again and see if his poops get bigger, even if his poopy butt comes back? Or not give him more greens because that might create more problems on top of the small poops? Any advice would be much appreciated
. Thanks!
