I still don’t when I’ll be able to get another bunny.  But this is going to be totally different bonding experience when I do get one.  When I got Lolli, I knew Eddie was going to be a pissy butthead about it all because the littlest things would make him mad.  lol  If I left him too long, he got grumpy.  If I didn’t let him out of the pen soon enough, he got grumpy.  If I was on the phone, he got grumpy.  So I expected it to be difficult because he’s bossy and used to having my sole attention, etc.   Lolli is very submissive.  Always has been, always will be.  When I first brought her home and all throughout bonding, she just wanted to be friends.

Because I have nothing else to do, I’ve thought about the bonding process when I get a new bunny.   But I find I am truly at a loss.  I have no clue what to expect.  Basically I don’t know if there’s a chance Lolli will change now since she’s been single and everything is HER territory.  Will Lolli continue to be submissive with any bunny that’s brought in because that’s her nature or is there a possibilty she’ll change and become the aggressor?

I like to be prepared which is why I’m thinking about it.  Actually, at night when I’m on the floor with her, watching her hop around, these thoughts occur to me.  lol

Lolli might very well be dominant and aggressive this time around, it’s her kingdom after all that she has scented and rules over. No bond is alike. Don’t worry though, because you can start now sectioning off an area to let it ‘neutralize’, preferably several spots.

Ok. So it IS possible. Now whenever I get a bunny, I won’t be totally surprised if she turns beotchy on me. lol The new bunny will be kept in a pen so he can get adjusted to his new place and he and Lolli can get acquainted before I start bonding them.

Well, I may have to move in with one of my parent due to this disability stuff going on for so long. If I continue to live here, I’ll section off a spot and start trying to neutralize before I’m getting ready for a new bun. Right now, I’m no where near close. Which sucks but Lolli’s happy with just me so I’m not worried about her anymore. Wait yes I am. LOL I’m worried that she won’t want a new friend. Which is dumb I know. I DO know that as long as I’m mostly around every day, she is perfectly happy. If/when I go back to work, I’ll definitely have to get her boyfriend. lol

            Thank you!

Have you ever looked into social groups that you can take your rabbits to? I know there is something called “Hoppy hour” and also agility groups. There are probably just meet-up groups also. Something like that would give you a chance to observe Lolli in a social situation. It could also stimulate her and even help in the weight loss. Also, you’d get contact with the bunnies : ) and their slaves of course.
Would something like that be difficult for you to get along to?

It’s not difficult to get to. But there’s no groups like that around me. I’ve looked. lol

I think you’ll find out soon enough when you take her on bunny dates. It was very clear that Otto was submissive and completely comfortable with just about every rabbit we put him with (there was self-grooming and hay eating within seconds). We really could’ve picked any rabbit to bond with him (not that I would’ve wanted an aggressive rabbit to make the bond difficult). Lolli might very well be this way, or she might have decided that the house is hers now and no one else’s.
