Just wondering if other bunnies that have multiple-level habitats like to fling or toss things downstairs.  Anytime I put anything on the upper level of Checkers’ cage, he tries to fling it down the ramp–and if it’s too big to fit down the ramp and blocks his way out he stands there looking confused!  I can’t decide if he just likes to toss things down the ramp or doesn’t like stuff in that area.

its playing.. they see you put it up there because you WANT to see them fling it.
even outside the cage, if you put something in front of their mouth, they’ll want to throw it.

Sucre does it too. I think its hilarious and put them back on the 2nd level.

I can think of at least a couple members who had ceramic crocks broken that way. Be sure that anything on the upper levels is plastic. If it’s a litterbox or hidey house, try drilling a small hole in the corner and zip-tying it to the corner of the cage so it can’t be moved.

My bunny’s LOVE doing this. Sometimes i put a hay cube on the second level and they nudge it down the ramp, or carry it in there mouth up the ramp.

Thanks all…and Beka, good suggestion on drilling holes…have been meaning to get a hidey house but there is really only room on the second level.
