I’m getting an Xpen for the new rabbit area and wondering if 24″ is really high enough for an open top pen? I can get a 30″ option too if that would be safer. Or even higher at 36″ if I think I’m going to have anything they might climb on like a small hut.

They are only lionheads so they won’t get that big.

        Thanks.

Well, I have a 1.5lb nethie that can jump the 30″ pens.

I’d go for the higher ones, better to be safe than sorry

I was afraid of that. I remember my old rabbit could jump on our bed no problem and that was at least 24″ high. She was bigger though.
Off to search some more….that last thing I need is to come home to free range bunnies eating Lord knows what!

I would get a higher one. Some bunnies are jumpers and some are not. Ironically, my bunny NEVER jumps anywhere, so I probably could have been fine with the 24″ one, but just didn’t want to risk it either.

Any rabbit unless disabled can jump 24″. It is just a matter if and when they put their minds to it. I have one who lived peaceably behind a 24″ gate for three months and one night he decided to jump it.

Don’t go less than 36. They’re only a few dollars more and will prevent you from having to buy a new pen later on.

Thanks. I got the 36″ high cage and it will a nice large play area.
