I know it’s probably a dumb question but here’s why i ask. I got a bag of the Oxbow GP food for pigs younger than 1 yr and a bag for the GPs older than 1 yr because I didn’t know what I was going to adopt but wanted to be prepared when I got one. Well, my piggies are both over 1 yr so I’m using that food.
Now my son just adopted 2 lionhead bunnies today-both are supposed to be 4mos but I think it might be a mother/daughter because one is a good deal larger and gets very agitated if you take the smaller out to hold. Guess that’s another thread…
ANYWAY, I have this alphalfa based pellets from Oxbow for young guinea pigs and was wondering if I could use it with the bunnies since they are young. It’s not a big deal if I can’t, I just didn’t want it to go to waste and we don’t have a shelter locally that takes guinea pigs that I could donate it too.
They are getting unlimited timothy hay and I offered them some romaine lettuce and carrots, but no interest in that yet. They came with a partial bag of Carefresh Complete Rabbit food-is this any good? It’s got 24% fiber but it has dried colored bits (maybe dried carrot?) and I know that’s bad for piggies. Wasn’t sure if I should keep feeding this or toss it.
I know all about guinea pigs but it’s been almost 15 yrs since my last house rabbit and I’m rusty…..
Thanks for your help.
