Miss Ruby and her babies are fosters. She gave birth at the end of November. Babies are 2 months old. I recently separated her from the babies.

Today she has her towel, and lots of fur, in her litter box. This morning she was carrying around a mouthful of hay.

Will it upset her if I undo her nest?  Is there anything I can do to make her feel better?

Only thing you could really do to help her is get her spayed. False pregnancies can be very common in unspayed females

That will happen when she goes back to the shelter.

Is there any chance this is not false? Have you had Miss Ruby for the past 2 months?
Might even pay to check any of her kits aren’t early developers. I really hope that it is just a false pregnancy.

I would not disturb her nesting behaviour. I think you just have to let her be until it runs its course.

She seems to be over it now. Thanks.
