        waggley tail…..or the black spots.

We’ve had a couple of days of beautiful weather here so I lifted the ramp up to the window to see if it was going to be too steep for the bunnies to go up and down. I opened the window and put Pringles, Toby and Daisy each up on the top part to see what they would do. Pringles and Toby wanted  nothing but to get back in but Daisy sat there for a bit and then ran down the ramp and then back through the window and into their maze.

oh hai, is runnin away from hom, kthanksbai

He must have done some talking because a few minutes later all three snuck up to the window and sat looking out. Daisy went down and out into their yard and I gave Pringles a little scoot and she slid down and Toby followed on his own. They were having fun going up and down and seemed to have no trouble on the indoor/outdoor carpet I had glued down. ( I had thought I might have to put some wooden grids or something.)

I sat out there and let them play for nearly an hour before I saw the local hawk making her rounds and shooed them back up but it was a great start . Now I just have to build a little platform on the window sill so there’s no chance of them slipping from the ledge.

Later I put Charlie out and he immediately ran up the ramp to visit with Daisy through the window. I left it open just enough they could sniff but not bite and there didn’t seem to be any aggression, just a lot of interest between them all.

You can tell Charlie’s grown into quite a big dude.

ack, forgot the outside pic of the ramp. This is the part of my old house that I’ve been rebuilding this year so it looks pretty rough right now…….but, I want to have the ramp at the bunnies window like this so I can open the window when they want out. It’s just knocked together because I wanted to see if it was too tall and steep before screwing it together for good.

Anybody have suggestions for some type of grass both good for bunnies to graze and that has a chance growing under the pecan trees? I need to build a ‘porch’ or platform at the window to make it safer for them too.

              See what you started, Petzy!!!!

There’s mud on it because I’ve had it laying on the ground since Christmas so the bunnies could play and get used to it before I asked them to climb it at an angle like that

I’d been wondering about dammitcharlie. He has grown!

On the grass, maybe give orchard grass a go? I think that grows well in shade. It’s called cocksfoot sometimes.

                  ps. Daisy, i luv you.

I like the ramp…but I was almost more enchanted by the ground without snow.  I miss having nice weather.  Your bunnies are lucky to have such nice weather- we have some nice weather here in Michigan but have to suffer thru snow weather and mud weather.

What’s a normal winter like in Texas? I’ve never been to that area of the country.
