  LizzyBunny recently posted some links about the rabbit over-population at the University of Victoria in BC… but things have taken a horrible turn for the worse.
  
  Sagecat sent this to me from the Colorado House Rabbit Society.
  
  Basically, domestic rabbits near the University of Victoria, BC were released on the campus and have, of course, been multiplying. A successful rescue is underway, involving both Canada and the United States, but the University of Victoria Board of Governors has decided to start killing the rabbits that haven’t been rescued by March 1.
  
  Do we round up and kill cats and dogs that have been discarded? Of course not! This petition is meant to give the rescuers at least one more month to try and catch and rehome as many of the abandoned bunnies as possible and provide awareness of the horrible decision that is being made to fix a problem that we, as humans, created ourselves.

  The UVic situation is highly frustrating! It’s gone around in circles.
  
  I had written a whole bunch of thoughts here (venting) but I’ve decided not to post them. I’ll do some more reading instead. For now, I shall just sign the petition and urge others to do also.

  I want to sign the petition but why do they want your personal information? I dont feel comfortable with that does anyone know why? or explain it so I can sign it comfortably? Maybe I misread that info…

  You can pretty much just put anything in the required fields. Like I only put an intial for my surname and it accepted that. For address I also kept generalized. iecapital city + country rather then my residential address.

  When I sign online petitions I usually go as far as saying my City but for my address I just put “Street”. It says it keeps it private but I just don’t think it’s necessary.

  Be careful when you do tht because they throw out a lot o signatures that don’t meet the requirements. It might be a law to be a real person and have a valid address. I would put my real one and not worry too much
