  Hello everyone, I know it has been over half a year since I last posted but I read a bunny article and thought of everyone here. I just thought I’d share it with you all.

  The gist if the article is that the Lunar New Year is approaching and because it is the year of the rabbit people are buying bunnies because they think feeding one will bring them good luck. So ends up being kind of like the Easter syndrome where a bunch of bunnies end up getting dumped off after the fact.
  
  Just thought I’d share this just as a heads up perhaps. Maybe they shouldn’t put a picture of a cute baby bunny next to the article… I think the cuteness might attract people more than the warning in the article!

  There is a much worse aspect of this that I will not share here. It’s just amazing how idiotic people are sometimes.

  Did you say “mail-order bunnies”?! Clearly I missed something… I thought I’d heard it all when I heard about mail-order fresh Christmas trees. Guess I was mistaken…

  Bunnies being mailed to China for the New Year. It takes a special sort of stupid to think a bunny is going to be okay in a completely enclosed box. PETA was on it and shutting down the distributors.
  
  My head shaker was the end of this article. I’ve received literature about the inhumane harvesting of all sorts of animals in the East, but those last few sentences…that is just terrible.

  I agree! If they volunteered at the humane society they could feed many… or I’m sure there are some buns here that might want an extra snack or something…
  
  And I peeked in at that article about mail-order bunnies. I couldn’t read much of it before I closed it. I stopped after reading they put the bunny in a box and it suffocates and dies. That was enough for me…

  Or they could go to those bunny cafes if they’re in Japan.

  I believe there are supervisors watching the people while customers handle and pet the rabbits. The rabbits seem pretty good with handling and petting.
  
  Miyuki, I read the thing and I was disgusted -_- I can’t believe how stupid and brainless people are.
  
  I’m happy with my one diva brat bunny. I did buy a pink year of the rabbit statue from Uwajimaya (japanese grocer in washington state) to put on my night stand.. I couldn’t help myself!
