Ive had merry for about 8 months now, when i brought her i got her with her sister pippin who unfortunatly passed away with intestinal problems just two weeks after having him. so i thought i would get a replacement bunny not for me really but more for merry. them first meeting did not go well turns out merrys exremely teritorial. so months have passed and both have finally been snipped and finally got to meet about an hour ago and i just wanted some advice on how it sounds.

They both live in my room and for the last 7 months the take it in turns to run around at first they werent allowed near each others cages but as time went on i allowed it more and more untill they finally stating laying next to one anothers cages.
i got them both out today in my room where they live. Instantly merry started to groom PJ and PJ reciricated with a few licks on the ear. But then PJ being PJ decided to hump merry. To be honest merry didnt seem botherd and they seemed ok with each other being there. They cleaned themselves like normall and merry laid on the floor whilst PJ ran around. But i noticed that they seemed to chase each other in circles alot and i didnt no whether this was a good or bad sign?

Everything you’ve described is fantastic – grooming on first meeting like that, especially in a non-neutral space, is really really good.

The chasing is normal and will lessen with time. My girl chased my boy around for months after they were fully bonded and living together. It’s been 8 months now and she still chases him once in a while, but she’s much less obnoxious about it than she was (she used to pull fur out of his bum as she did it and we’d fine huge tufts). Just keep an eye on them because sometimes the chasee can get annoyed and turn around to start a fight. Mine did have a few small scuffles (just fur pulling, no biting) as Otto tried to get her to knock it off.
