  I found basil this morning at 5 am laying on his side kicking I thought he was dreaming but made sure he was ok and he cant get up hes breathing hard and tries to sit upright but cant! he is bright eyed and alert what is going on! i cant get the vet they dont open till 9 and Im in a small town they dont have a 24 hour emergency care place! what could this be what should i doo!? please help if you can send prayers and good thought our way….

  I’m not sure what’s going on, but it doesn’t sound good at all. If you can’t get to the vet for a few hours, just keep him calm and warm. Try not to let him kick too hard – he could hurt his back.

  Even if the vet clinic doesn’t open til 9, often staff are there earlier. I would take him and see if they can have him there til the vet is in so he can be seen right away.

  Oh, I’m so sorry. Basil is out of discomfort now, and I’ll send up prayers to get him peacefully across the rainbow bridge for beloved bunnies.

  Thank you…. its been rough I didnt realise how close I was to him. I had him a little less that 4 months I think it was age that took him from me because there was nothing else that it could have been he was so health and happy at least I know I gave him the best care in his last few months of life, What a emotional wreck Ive been of course he passed when all my relatives are visiting so everyone kept asking and talking about it and all I could do was cry… I miss him so much…
