How often is she having mushy poo? That’s not normal at all-they should eat their cecals (the only normal mushy poo) and the only poops you should see are the dry round ones. If there is mushy poop you are finding repeatedly she needs to see a vet Keep us posted!

Bunnies will only eat the cecal droppings that they need, so if they are producing too many, the rest will sit and as she moves around, probably get smeared everywhere since they are softer. Does she get pellets? When was the last time she had a vet exam and fecal test?

You may not be familiar with the way forums work.  You must understand that you might not receive immediate answers to posts.  I (and the other forum leaders) do not sit at the computer all day composing responses to threads.  I contribute to Binkybunny because I am interested in the health and welfare of rabbits as house companions, BUT… I also have a human family, rabbits of my own, a paid job, I am a full-time college student in an extremely accelerated program, and interests/hobbies outside of the internet.  There is no reason to be rude because you didn’t receive a reply yet.

We are not vets nor are we animal behaviorists; we can provide guidance based on research we’ve done and our own experiences, but there is no guarantee that you will receive a definitive answer.  If the issue is so pressing, please take your rabbit to your vet and get some assistance.

Well sometimes this happens and you just have to clean. That’s my only advice. I have a few rabbits who do this and all I can say is just clean up after them.

Now, since this is the first time I am seeing your previous post… my advice is as follows: if this is only occurring about once every two weeks, it does not sound like a diet issue or a health issue. A true overproduction of cecals will result in them being left much more frequently. As I said before, rabbits won’t eat cecals if they don’t biologically need them. My rabbits will occasionally leave a cecal, and as Sarita said, you just clean it up.

K&K and Beka already responded with important information and advice. If it’s a few times a week, she needs to see a vet.

If it’s every couple of weeks, I would suggest abandoning the covered litter box. Give her plenty of litter in a larger, open pan, with some hay in the corner to make sure she wants to be in it. Then make her a box out of cardboard with a hole in one side for a hidey house to sit under and climb on. That way, if she is pooping outside the litter pan and it’s still mushy, you’ll know there is definitely something wrong, and will take her to the vet.
