I think he might be honking.

Normally, as the buns sense bedtime approaching, they retreat behind the sofa and hide so require herding out (or sliding a couple of feet along the floor if they’re being particularly stubborn).  A few times the past week or so Bisto has made little noises as I’ve been trying to get him to move. Sort of piggy grunts, oinky noises. It sounds remarkably similar to this rabbit  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Xkl…re=related but I thought honking was a happy noise, not an annoyed one?

Hmm…the video kind of sounded like growling to me. lol Lolli will grunt and growl at me sometimes. It sounds like the video. And she’s definitely not happy. Maybe Bisto is grunting instead? Hopefully others will be able to tell you what he’s doing. lol

From what I can tell from watching a bunch of youtube movies, there’s a rather hard to distinguish difference between growling and honking sound-wise, but clearly they mean very different things. Maybe you can watch a few other videos of each type on youtube and compare to your own bunny? Since you said that you were herding out from behind the sofa, he was probably annoyed, so I would guess growling because of that.

I’ve heard that growl before and it is definitely a growl. My friends Lionhead did it a lot. Chacha grunts at me, but never growl. I mostly get honks, which are very very quiet and sound like ‘mm, mm.’ Its a sweet sound.

When Eddie first growled at me, I didn’t know what the hell he was doing. I thought he was sick or that I had imagined it or something. It’s such a non-threatening sound, isn’t it? Always makes me laugh when Lolli growls at me.

It is funny to hear growling coming from such soft little creatures….lol

My lovely Pringles has always make lots of different sounds, growling, barking, grumbling and even snorting like a bull, really loud and not very ladylike at all. She plays with my son (big kid) by enticing him to stick his hand in the condo door and all heck breaks loose, but she never ever bites or nips, just calls him all sort of bad bunny names and snorts like a horse at him.

I have been scared of my little fluffy 3-4 lb rabbit growling at me when she was pre-spay.  And it is ironic that Monty Python has the scene with the “scary monster” that kills people- that is a white bunny.  I think they meant it to be ridiculous that someone could be frightened of a white, fluffy bunny- but they CAN be scary.  LOL

there is a link in the Videos section here on Binky Bunny- but I could not get it to load on my computer.  It is the rabbit scene from the Holy Grail and I had to go look it up on youtube and watch it again.  It totally cracks me up- and I am not a huge Monty Python fan.
