Oh, Thomas! Well, I forgot I don’t throw away edible or semi-edible stuff in my room garbage and threw away a banana peel… There was some family over so I wasn’t in my room for a while, and by the time I came back to see Thomas, all that was left of the peel was the top bit and the end bit!

He ate an entire peel! And a black dotted peel too! D=

Is this dangerous? I’m watching him, of course, but it was near the end of the night, so he was slowing down anyways. Anything in particular I should look for??

OY! He’s such a garbage digger, how could I forget not to throw stuff like that away there!

anything you can eat, they can eat with the exception of starches like potatoes, tomato greens, and onions. I feed franz my banana peel after I eat my banana XD I don’t let him eat the whole thing tho prolly too sugary.

I’ve read it on some sites that they can eat the peel. It being something he’s not used to having, just look for any GI upset like gas. I’m pretty sure the peel is not poisonous or anything.

Unless the banana was organic I would never give its peel to my rabbits. Bananas are intensively treated with several pesticides during their growth period, which concentrate in their peels, and ripening agents, such as calcium carbide, are applied to the peel itself.

I would think that peel is ok-in fact I’m sure orange peels are ok as well, but like petzy said not ideal because of treatments-and also bacteria from people handling it (why we wash veggies of course) but I’m sure if it’s a one time garbage romp he should be fine
