I have run into confusion with various fruits and veggies on WHICH ones can be given in “unlimited” amounts, and which ones can only be given a few times per week.  What I mean by unlimited is that they can be given at every feeding, every day, without any known problems.  Not an actual unlimited SUPPLY.

For example, I have been giving Sunny kale like every day last week and brussel sprouts two days in a row, then I came on here and read where brussel sprouts should not be given every day, and kale can cause problem if given too much.

SOOOO, what are some of the veggies you CAN give everyday that are least likely to cause problems, and what are some fruits that are ok to give every day (in small amounts of course)

My bun gets 2 leaves of romaine, a small handful of cilantro and occasionally italian parsley.
Bunny gets one tiny piece of a strawberry treat a day.
I have heard kale can cause issues, but I think we should wait for others’ input

It’s going to depend on the rabbit a lot as to what is tolerated. Some buns literally have iron stomachs. Nothing phases them. The veggies that can cause problems in some won’t affect others. You are usually safe with dark green lettuces if you want to feed something in higher quantities.

I’ve been giving kale to my two bunnies every day for many months (or years for my older bunny) without any issues. As long as the bunny is healthy, and the veggies don’t cause gas or very cloudy pee, veggies like kale and brussel’s sprouts are fine.

I’d personally suggest romaine or green leaf lettuce, parsley, cilantro, kale, carrot tops, spinach, celery leaves or mint to make up the bulk of a bunny’s salads. My bunnies’ favorite fruits include banana, mango, apple, pineapple, dried papaya, and raisins/craisins. I like to switch up their diets from time to time to keep their food interesting.

I don’t think there is a problem with any vegetable or fruit being given every day.

Obviously fruit and sugary vegetables in small amounts, but there is nothing wrong with feeding something every day. It’s great to vary things, for their own excitement as well as nutritional benefits, but I don’t believe there is anything you cannot feed everyday. There are veggies that can cause gas (broccoli, kale etc) that should be fed in limited amounts to bunnies who are suceptable but again-no issue with it being everyday as long as you are feeding in good amounts.

If it works for your bunny, your budget, your store (ie. they carry what you want) I think it’s fine
