Are you scared to fly? Horribly.  Just visited my hometown this past weekend and I didn’t sleep for thirty-two hours before the first flight.  I also broke out into hives.  Very attractive.

What is your style? Loose, swirly dresses and skirts with low-healed sandals.  Feminine, but low maintenance.  Machine-washable

Do you have any tattoos? Nope, too scared.  It took me 21 years to get my ears pierced, so I think a tattoo isn’t gonna happen.

Do you believe in Astrology?  No, not at all. Probably becuase my sign and everything I’ve read has been the complete opposite of my personality

Favourite TV Show of all time? Seinfeld

Favourite Love Song? We danced to “Rain or Shine” at our wedding, so I’ll say that. Though I also love “I’m Beginning to See the Light” (both by Sinatra, but I love the other versions too)

Song that always makes you shiver?  I don’t know! I’m sure there is one, but I can’t think of it

What did you want really badly as a child? Horse

Did you ever get it?  Nope, and I doubt I will at this point – they’re just too expensive here and I’m not sure I’d have the time. I do hope to get a partial lease some time in the next couple years after we buy a house

3 Most Prized Possessions (non-living):  My engagement ring – the diamond was in DH’s family for 3 or 4 generations. My books – I only keep ones I love and that mean something to me and so my collection is important to me. When we get a house we’re turning the “formal living room” into a library! I’m so excited. Last is my pots and pans, actually – my mom bought me All-clad when I got my own apartment. She lives near the factory and was able to get stuff on factory sale. Without her help I’d never have such beautiful cookware that I will own for the rest of my life – I certainly can’t afford what they charge at Williams-Sonoma!

Reading or TV?  I guess both at times. I only watch tv if there is something on I want to watch – I won’t watch random junk if I can read a book instead (though the stuff I do watch is usually junk anyway – I just like specific junk )

What are you really proud of? graduating with my engineering degree from a really difficult university – I struggled, and it seemed like everybody was so much smarter than me at times, so I’m really proud I made it through

What would you like to be remembered for when you are gone?  Just being a kind and genuine person – nothing huge, but I think that is a wonderful thing for people to think of you.

Are you scared of Spiders?  No, but I don’t like them either!

Where would you most like to visit? Wales or Portugal – I went to Portugal almost 15 years ago and I’m dying to go back. Never been to Wales

Have you found True Love? Yes, as far as I agree with the term “true love”, I have. I feel very lucky to be married to my husband for the past year.

What’s the last movie you saw? Hmm … I think DH had “A Christmas Story” on tv the other day, though we didn’t watch all of it. Before that I watched the whole “Little Dorrit” miniseries from the BBC – loved it!

What’s the last book you read?  The last book I finished was “At Home” by Bill Bryson. I’m currently reading Dicken’s “Pickwick Papers” and “Swimming in the Volcano” by Bob Shacochis

Are you scared to fly? No, which is good because I used to fly for work almost every week.

What is your style? Banana Republic, since I buy just about everything from there. In general my style is simple – solid color tees, jeans, etc. I don’t tend to wear accessories.

Favorite food? bread! I could seriously eat just fresh homemade bread for almost any meal. My favorite types are eggy breads like brioche or challah. I also love a Polish bread called houska that my mom and I make every Christmas (it’s a braided bread with raisins – slightly sweet). I tried to do a low carb diet one time and failed by eating half of a loaf of bread after the first week.

Favorite drink? Wine and beer! I don’t really drink anything other than water and tea in the non-alcoholic category, so I’ll say those as well.

Favorite season?  Fall

What are you hobbies?  Horseback riding (though I haven’t been able to take lessons consistently in the last 6 years), animal training, reading (19th century British lit is my favorite genre), video games (sometimes – my attention span is limited and I’m terrible at them so DH has to play with me and get through the hard parts ), trying new kinds of wine and beer (and visiting breweries and wineries), spending time with friends

Do you live in your hometown? No, I grew up in Pittsburgh, but I’m currently living in CT and will soon be living in the Hudson Valley in New York (when we find a house at least)

Favorite thing to wear?  Jeans and Banana Republic tshirts are my weekend uniform, though I do love a good pair of sweatpants!

Favourite Love Song? Is this a trick question? When I was a teenager I thought if I ever got married, I’d want to dance to the the acoustic version of “I Miss You” by Incubus. Funny thing is my brother ended up using the original at his wedding! No harm done since I doubt I’ll ever be married.

I have the mindset that possessions have no worth when compared to people/life/memories  (having a rabbit that likes to destroy possessions helped with this mindset a lot, haha) I would hate to lose my photos, though (physically and on my hard drive).

Reading or TV?  It depends on my mood. I’ve been doing waaaay more TV though.

What are you really proud of? That I made it though university. And with a really high GPA! I’m also proud of myself in general… that I’m not afraid to like who I am.

What would you like to be remembered for when you are gone?  Something positive, I hope! Hehe. My personality, my ability to make people laugh, my openness. 

Are you scared of Spiders?  They scare me when I walk into a web unexpectedly and don’t know what kind is lurking in it. Otherwise, not too much. I think some of them are kind of cute. I’m definitely scared of the ones that have venom that can kill a human, though. I’ve come too close with black widows and brown recluses too many times.

What’s the last movie you saw? I don’t know. The last movie I saw in theatres was The Hangover two summers ago! I’m a cheap ass. I watch A LOT of movies at home though. That said, I’m not sure what the last one was. I watched most of Good Hair the other day, though. I’ve seen it before and happened to be in the room while someone else was watching it on HBO. 

What’s the last book you read?  The last novel I was working on Dead Until Dark, but got sidetracked. I’ve read a bunch of small books in between though. 

Do you believe in Karma? I believe in the idea of it… your demeanor is contagious. When you’re kind and giving, people tend to treat you the same. And when you’re a crappy person, you shouldn’t be surprised when people don’t like you and you think you have a crappy life. 

Are you scared to fly? Not scared, but I find it uncomfortable. 

What is your style? A little silly and definitely mixed. I wear a lot of black fitted tops and dark or medium washed jeans during the everyday. But I like a little edge to my wardrobe and it shows.  And I go to goth/industrial/alternative clubs and events during the evenings sometimes, so I dress up and it does show a little in my day to day too. And I like dramatic eye make up. I think to explain my style, I’d have to write a whole essay to be honest with you. There are a lot of facets to me. Do you live in your hometown? No. Born in the Orange County area of California, raised in Texas (I would consider Plano, Texas my hometown if anything is). And now I live in San Diego.

Favorite thing to wear?  I love being pantsless. Otherwise I like to be comfortable in day to day life, put together in my professional life, and look damn good otherwise

What are you really proud of? Being there for the final days of my mother’s life. it was hard, but I am proud that i was there. She gave me life, the most that I wanted ot do was to be there for her when she needed me most.

Also, finding another job. And potty training a pet. Never done that. That pet would be Chacha

What would you like to be remembered for when you are gone?  My laughter, randomness, and being an indoor rabbit slave advocate.

Antonia Fraser is great – I should read more of her. Definitely adding to my ‘need to read’ list!

Oh she’s awesome! I’m definitely going to check out her other stuff, because I couldn’t put down Marie Antoinette!
