My dear little Thumper realized there were some leather pants hanging in a closet in her room; she decides to chew, pee, and poo on these $150 pants. (I’m actually not worried about the pants, they mean nothing) Should I be worried? She is eating and pooping fine as far as I can see but I just had to make sure.

oh no! if she’s acting normal I think she should be okay, just keep watching her. sometimes when they chew stuff they don’t actually swallow it, they just like chewing it haha. my buns have chewed through all sorts of materials and they’re alright. how long ago was this? if she’s acting normal for the next day I would say no worries. =]

If she’s already pood and peed she’s OK I think. But I’m thinking it’s time to reconfigure the closet to make things like this less accessible to a clever bunny. Are they hanging too low? did she pull them down to do this? If some things hang down within reach of a little mouth or paws, consider folding them twice on the hangers, or storing in a higher shelf. Make sure nothing is available for climbing onto, like boxes, and if all else fails, start being in the habit of closing the closet door every time.

I have a walk-in closet in my bedroom that is very tempting for bunny. She will follow me in and I have to shoo her out. sometimes I have to close the door, then go around the apartment and find her because at least once I have shut her in behind me when I thought she’d already walked out.

This was yesterday and she’s acting normal now. I still don’t understand how she managed to pull them down off the rack, she must be stronger then I thought.. Lol yes I agree; Bunnies must be magicians deep inside.
