I read through most of what was on the site…it looks like straight from the textbook stuff…some of the information may be valid and even useful (Cindy, the rex I used to have, would get many blockages in her old age and pineapple juice came in real handy) but it doesn’t seem to be written by someone who actively owns and interacts with rabbits. It almost looks like they might have copied and pasted it from another source. The thing about refridgerating the pellets seems weird to me. I’ve never done that.. :/ I just keep them in an air tight container. My food doesn’t usually last that long anyway before I need to buy a new bag, haha.

Both of my rabbits have cages with litterboxes in them but they also have free range of a room. It seems like the authors of the text aren’t aware that it’s possible to bunny-proof a home if you set your mind to it.

I’m sure that the website is maintained by a staff member. Perhaps you could call the contact numbers and maybe the receptionist would at least know the email address if not who actually runs the site.

Maybe then you can give them suggestions about how to revise this care page if you have specific ideas.

I found this on the demo site for the company that maintains their website. It’s the exact same thing, so this same info is unfortunately probably on many other vet’s websites.

Grr, that really bugs me. Esp pellets being the diet staple (maybe this was for meat rabbits. Sad face.) and recommending giving yogurt. I’m tempted to send a bunch of sources with info for the vet >_<

It’s UNCOMMON but NORMAL yeah that’s also STUPID and SMART…???? And WET and DRY…. *sigh*

Yup if someone made me stand on a wire floor 24/7 a towel would relive my feet

How bout my personal favorite (this was as per here, actual emergency vet advice for a rabbit with a ‘cold’) ‘give him a carrot for vitamin C (remember, guinea pigs and humans are the only mammals who cannot manufacture their own vitamin C)-they should put that on their site too! Oh *sigh*
