         Hello there,

So my carbon monoxide alarm just decided to start going off and it is quite loud, we have since called the fire department etc and there is no carbon monoxide our battery was just lose.

Anyways, I had my bun all packed up and ready to go in his travel carrier just in case we had to leave, i brought him up stairs to get farther away from the alarm and he seemed OK but a bit worried. When I let him back out into his bunny room the first thing he did after running out of his carrier was thump, which I can totally understand why he thumped. But what I’m wondering is what to look out for in case hes putting on a brave front but is actually scared, I don’t want to miss a warning sign that he is upset if there is something I can do to help.

Just wondering if anyone out there has any tips or stuff to watch out for to make sure he isnt bothered. He seems pretty normal, doing his usual activities, still eating too.

        thanks!

He should be fine. My apartment building did a fire drill a while back, and it freaked my buns out too. They were fine after it was turned off.

Yeah, and the ones here are just a steady, extremely loud high pitched whine… ugh. You bun should be just fine

LOL My fire alarm goes off all the time-I have been trying to cook. They calm down quickly (mine don’t even seem to care anymore)

Ours hasn’t gone off since we’ve had Dutchess, I dread to think her reaction O.O I would think your bun would be fine, might take ten-fifteen minutes or so to calm down?

I’m sure he’ll be fine. Just keep an eye on him and make sure he’s still eating and drinking normally.

Our fire alarms beep every so often (if I get smoke in the kitchen, or the battery needs to be replaced) – the bunnies get scared, but go back to normal very quickly.

Thank you everyone for the replies, he is fine, I think the noise may have bothered my ears more than his. He is back to his usual hyper active self

Same with me, and ours is pretty fierce because our house was converted from a daycare, so we even have an alarm outside that makes an awful wailing noise. It goes off routinely, but at this point, Ivy seems to pretty much not care when it goes off
