well now that Dakota is almost a year old, she has started to calm down. Should i still spay her or is it ok to just keep her un spayed.

We do not spay females for behavioral reasons, we do so primarily because of the health implications if left unspayed. She has a high risk of developing multiple types of cancer within the next 2 years, so it is very important she get spayed now. This link below has even found that female rabbits as young as 18 months may begin to develop precancerous tumors. Time is ticking. It is incredibly important you get her spayed ASAP.

thanks i will either take her into my dad’s clinic or my sister’s clinic. Probably my sister’s clinic because there is an Exotic animal specalist there who spays and neuters rabbits all of the time. Thanks so much for the help.

Definitely still spay-calmnes isn’t the only benefit and health is huge. If your family has vet clinics they should be able to go everything in greater detail as well so you’re more confident about spaying her. I know the reluctance (why fix it if it ain’t broke) but really -it will almost definitely ‘break’ if you don’t spay They have a super high incidence of cancer and you’re almost always extending life expectancy by fixing your pet
