I buy loose tea for myself.  I steeped myself some green tea, and thought I had heard of people giving it to rabbits before. Well, I gave him a taste and he loved it. I have no idea if it’s safe or not, so I didn’t give him anymore. Any idea from anyone? It’s green tea leaves, and it does have some sunflower petals in it, as well as apricot flavoring.

I don’t know about green tea. Did you feed him the leaves or the actual drink? I’ve sprinkled some of my chamomile on Fel’s hay before…

The leaves. I’d love to give them to him….I don’t know about sunflower petals either….I know rabbits love certain flowers.

Well, I’ve never heard anything about NOT giving your rabbit tea leaves… I would wait around for one of the more knowledgeable forum leaders to chime in. I would assume they would be okay as an occassional treat, but like I said, I’m not positive.

I have heard tea including green is ok. Camelia is on a non-toxic list. I don’t know about sunflower petals but Amy&Hugo posted about a treat that has both green tea and sunflower petals. https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/aff/1/aft/113207/afv/topic/Default.aspx
