I woke up this morning to a horrible smell.  I go down stairs where it conitues to get stronger and I follow it to the garage.  I call my husband who said “I must have forgot to shut the valve open”.  So the snow blower had been dripping a steady drip for over an hour in o ur attached garage.  So the house smells awful and he did even do the whole driveway!

Anyway, is Rhine going to be ok in the house?  I have no idea what to do.  I don’t have to worry about my girls because they are going to Grandma’s house.

Wow! That must have been really scary! You should get a gas detector alarm!

Let the windows open in the whole house for a few hours, so fresh air can come inside, and then he should be fine. It it just happened, I would put him in a room with the window open.

I watched Oprah once where a whole family – except the husband who was at work – died because of a gas leak in the garage…it was so sad

I would open the windows for a few hours as well (for you and for Rhine).

I wish it wasn’t 20 degrees outside. I built an area for Rhine in the basement out of totes and an area rug for now. I have a dehumidifier down there and it blows out warm air. So at least I know he’s warm and safe now. I have those window insulator kits on all my window! lol Just put them up yesterday. I have the furnace off and will be opening the doors. I guess I’ll go shovel since it still needs done.

Oh yummy… I mean scary… (I’m a weirdo and love the smell of gasoline.) 😎

Yes, leave the doors open for a few hours. It will be cold, but much safer. You can keep him out of a draft, but I would temporarily move him into one of the rooms with the door open so he can breathe in fresh air for about an hour at least. Keep him in a corner where the air is circulating but out of a draft. Keep him caged in case anyone uninvited wanders in the open door.

                  Keep your silly husband outside.
