        With my neck surgery 2 years ago, I found out I was allergic to vicoden.   And this apparently involves the whole freaking narcotic family.  Which if I hadn’t had surgery last week, would be completely fine cause I don’t take drugs when I don’t have to and even when I should.  But now I NEED some serious pain killers and I don’t think there’s anything.

        I was prescibed percoset just to see I could take it.  Nope, took it for maybe 2-3 days maybe 2-3 per day and started itching all over my body.  Now I am taking ultram that I had been taking before the surgery and I may be having a reaction to that.  I don’t know.  I had a huge allergic reaction to glue or tape or SOMETHING they use on your skin in surgery cause every damn time I get surgery done, I wind up with a rash around the incision.  The incision is perfectly fine – no swelling, redness, anything.  Just all the skin around it is red and itchy.  I’m taking benadryl for that and mom puts cortizone on it for me.

        So that’s not going away.  I’m in pain although it’s getting better day by day and I’m an itchy mess.   OOOHHH….I started my period too.  That was probably TMI but I just need to whine.

        I am calling the doctor tomorrow about the rash.

        Lolli has been perfectly fine.  She was her typical cheeky self with my mom.   I kept her in the pen the whole time so my mom could find her easy and be able to get to her to check on her and stuff.  So some days, Lolli would come out for my mom and other days she wouldn’t.  lol  My mom would still pick up her box so she could see her.     Lolli even ate treats out of my mom’s hands.  I’m pretty sure she’s never done that for anyone else.  But then mom was on the OTHER side of the pen.  hehe  Tonite is my first night back at home.  Lolli is now free range again.  And for her whole routine being messed up, she’s acting like nothing happened.  Same old, same old.  Eddie would’ve been pissed at me for days.  I picked Lolli up and we snuggled on the couch for about a half hour.  I don’t know how much I’m going to be holding her cause I can’t simply bend over.  I have to kneel down and then push myself back up while holding her.  I figure after tonite, best not to do that anymore.  lol

        So yeah.  This turned from a whine to an update.  lol

          Awww
          I understood what medications you are on. My mom was on vicodin before and after her cancer ‘debulking’ surgery and I was on it after I got my wisdom tooth taken out. My mom was also on perocet.

          I hope the doctor can perscribe you something for your pain!! Nobody should have nothing for their pain Weh..

          The doctor used glue to make the incision close? O_O;;

            For the incision, he used sutures. But then they also put these tape strips over the area and I think maybe the adhesive from those cause an allergic reaction. Or it’s the beta-dine or something else that’s topical that causes it. I don’t know. All I know is that having this rash on my back is like the worst place ever. It’s winter so of course I need clothes and blankets. Sigh.

              Blah, I’m sorry to hear this. I am the same way when it comes to common antibiotics. Which sucks because the women in my family are overly-susceptible to UTIs and I’ve developed immunity to the one antibiotic that didn’t give me any trouble. Last time I had an infection it was a sucky trial-and-error situation that took weeks before we found something I could take and was finally clear. I even had a neurological reaction to one of the meds, which was terrible. Of course, when we finally found one I could take, they put me on a monster-sized dose to be sure everything was cleaned out of my system and it turned me into a total zombie (keep in mind I only weighed like 104 lbs at the time on top of the huge dosage).

              I also hate taking meds… I’m the kind of person who doesn’t even like taking Tylonel and stuff. People think I’m weird when I just deal with migraines and stuff naturally. Blah.

                I definitely think I’m gonna have to see the doctor about this rash. I’ve been taking benedryl every 4 hours today and it’s not doing anything. I’ve been up all night due to the itchiness. Blech. They better give me a shot or something. lol
