40 days into their cementing…
After all this time, Neigey gave a tentative groom to another rabbit.
I can’t believe it.
I was cleaning their pen this morning and they were huddled together, which was another first, so I got my camera and then it happened: Neigey gave a little grooming to Duffy and later to Lint. It is amazing. I never thought he would. And Deirdra sat by peaceably.
I had taken the blue carpet out because it was also causing a guarding attitude in Deirdra. The carpet had been used by her during a cementing with Duffy and Lint before I added in Neigey. Since taking out the carpet they have been much closer.
These videos may seem dull but to me they are the most exciting clips ever! This has taken such a long time. I used to accept that Neigey just was not going to give grooms. In the Mops quartet he never did and it as never an issue, but it’s sweet to see him try~
you may think this is no grooming but there was a lick there in the beginning!

Yes! Happy-Happy-Happy-Happy!! I am just speechless!
On a side note, I was disheartened about Lint and Neigey all this time because Neigey was supposed to be Lint’s buddy, because at one time Mops and Deirdra were the center of it all…. but Lint and Neigey were never close. They were OK, but not close. Now, with Neigey learning to groom others, Lint is more interested in him and this morning I found the three rexy boys sleeping together with Deirdra in the proverbial dog house!

That first film is really amazing, and Petzy, on both the first one and the second I could have sworn I saw Neigey give a passing quick lick to Deirdre when he had his face against hers. Maybe wishful thinking, but rewind and look hard just in case.
What I find so fascinating is the quartet sitting like that all faces together. Did you put them into that position and they stayed? Or did they get into it on their own? That would be incredible I think.
Grooming Duffy is just terrific. Maybe both boys feel a bit like the newbies, and took to each other. I would not want to face 3 mini rex boys if I were Deirdre, unless I was trying for queen bee among them. Such interesting dynamics, but all peaceful this week.
