Does everyone have insurance for their bunnies?  I got it for mine as soon as they were adopted.  I just cancelled it though, i’ve had it for about 1 1/2 years. Wondering if I’ll regret it!

Mine aren’t. I looked into it and it was nearly £20 per month plus an excess. I’ve figured I might as well just put the £20 aside into saving each month!

I never had insurance, but toward the end of my first bunny’s life, it was very expensive, costing about $200-$300 every week for 3 weeks. However, I gladly paid it. She never had many vet bills before. I think it was easier just paying whatever than it would have been fighting with an insurance company. I can’t imagine insurance being willing to pay for everything I was willing to do. And at that moment, I needed to know I did everything I could and money/insurance was not an issue.

If you’re in the US, I can recommend VPI pet insurance. It’s $12/month per pet. I have it because you can’t get it with a pre-existing condition. I know it’s a regular expense, and feels like a waste in their younger years, but it’s a real lifesaver as they age. Also, a young adverturous bunny can have a sudden injury, and you have a big bill out of the blue. Treatment bills can add up very, very quickly, so I really feel the insurance is worth it. A bunny’s teeth can be expensive if they grow wrong, since they can need frequent treatments also. I have peace of mind with the insurance. Didn’t have it with my first bunny because I didn’t know it existed.
