Uh I wish the snow would stay!

Ugh. My water is going to be turned off for about 4 hours today. Bahhhh. Stupid water company doing maintenance lol. But they chose the day I set aside to do stuff around here that needed to be done

I need a nap.. but someone is gonna come look at the house. Not to mention, I am starving.

It is cold! I am trying to figure out dental insurance, what they cover, what I have to pay. How do you go about finding a good dentist?!

I got a recommendation from a friend. I needed dto get my wisdom teeth removed (Just 2). She made a good recommendation, I didn’t have insurance that covers dental. Ugh. So it was out of pocket. But I was very happy with the dentist’s work on my teeth.

I’m nomming on pizza and watching CSI.

It’s freaking cold here. lol It’s normal weather for us this time of year but we had an mild november with highs in the 40’s and 50’s and sometimes 60’s. Now that it’s 30, it seems like it’s freezing now. haha

I love CSI and pizza! lol I need to go see my friend tonite when she gets home from work and give her a key to my apartment. She’s gonna come over and help me out with cleaning Lolli’s pen while I’m laid up with my back. I figure it’s just easier to give her and my mom a key so they can just come on in. lol

Today, only about 18 below…but still warm enough that I can get Jenna outside to walk and potty, thank God. Funny how when you live in the nether regions of the planet, the official start of winter starts to look more like summer break coming on…lol.
And don’t tell me bunnies have poor eyesight. Mimzy STILL wakes me about 7 AM despite the lower light. He can see far enough to find pre-dawn glow. >.<

oh wow mimz.. so, is it hard to breathe? when my dad was in the coast guard and was stationed in kansas, he said the winters were SO HARSH, he couldn’t do his morning jogs very well due to the cold ><

my aunt was complaning how california is 45 degrees and freezing.. thats warm to pacific northwest people we had snow and it was in the teens. i know it gets colder in other places in the states though thank goodness for THE JACKET my dad got me 2 xmas’ ago!! it keeps me warm

i’ve been rather bored lately. hmph.

My friend just transfered to an army outpost out there, he was saying that it was COLD. I’ve known him since elementary school, and we’re from Nashville, Tennessee so it NEVER gets that cold.

It was in the 60’s last week now its in the 30’s this week and in the teens at night. whew

*passes MB the Motrin* lol….
Yeah, it does a number on your lungs to be out in subzero…but I don’t really notice it till I come back inside and then WHOOSH…it hits you all at once. Feels like you just ran 10 miles (which I wouldn’t know anything about since I don’t even walk that far…lol.)
The worst is how quickly your nose starts running…and then of course you have your hands all swathed in thick gloves and you don’t want to wipe THAT on them, so you fish around in your pocket for a hanky, but by the time you find one it’s frozen to your face anyway, so you have a nasty icicle hanging off the end of our schnoz….yuck.
My biggest peeve is the -40..where even your eyeballs freeze open…OUCH.

..-40 nd your EYES FREEZE??? IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE? O____O this is my medical lesson of the day : what cold weather does to a person. man, i wonder how it is like in antartica ;P

i’ve had a headache for the past 2 days.. it really really sucks to be honest. i really wnated to work out tonight but i don’t wanna do cardio with my head killing me

Indy ate my cellphone charger….3rd one. SIGH. I thought he was being cute but he just wanted pellets and my cord.

Just got home from work. They set up a 50′ tall xmas tree in the yard in front of the museum, and it was tree lighting night. A helicopter landed and Santa got out, then went to the little Santa house at the tree and kids lined up to see him. The tree lit up all at once. Lots of folks come out for this. We had a reception for our high level donors, then open to the public and charge admission until 9PM. You guys will hate this, but it’s about 68 degrees outside. Very festive in the streets. I worked from 1:30 on, the came home. It went well. I have tomorrow off, then work the weekend, daytime.

Quite a change from the Berkshires with deep snow drifts, mountains and curvy deserted roads. I kind of miss the countryside and beauty, but not being so cold.

I contemplated going to a tree lighting in Portland. Glad I didn’t… the FBI and the portland police arrested some 19 year old kid attempting to bomb the place. He said he wanted to hit Oregon cuz no one ever thinks of Oregon. Is an easy target I guess.

Luckily, the FBI was on the ball and had been watching the kid for ages. Evidently he wanted to participate in a jihad since he was 15. Idiot.

._. that.. was not cool. i freaked out a bit when i saw it on the news. the man was somalian-american and even attended an oregon university.. wow.. i can’t believe terrorists even consider using american resources -_- ;;; BLAH.

ANYWAYS, i just got me some wood stove pellets. i hope chacha is alright with ’em. i still have 1 1/2 bags of carefresh left… she is one pooping machine

john is coming this weekend. i’ll be making some xmas brownies. it will have red and green sprinkles.
 

i am currently reading watership down. john got it for me a while back, but i was too busy reading harry potter.

since i have no more school, i can stay up and watch my favorite late night show, craig ferguson he is literally the only late show host that makes me laugh out loud (and i’m surprised my dad doesn’t wake up, considering i laugh pretty dang loud).

The light used to go completely for about two weeks in the Interior when my hubby was here as a kid, but I think we only lose above horizon sunlight for all but about 3 hours now. It’s still light, just not bright and not long.
If we lived in Barrow, they won’t see the sun cross the horizon again until February.

Geez, MB, that tree lighting has been all over the news for days. I’m glad you didn’t go! Sucks though, when we can’t travel or attend public gatherings without having to worry about this crap.

Brittany…been making fudge to send to relatives. I was going to send Swiss Colony or Harry and David goodies, but TOO EXPENSIVE. Cheaper to make my own.

BTW, Pam…I think Happy Hanukkah is in order…

ee fudge? i was at the store this evening. dad and i got deli food for dinner. he wanted to check out the tiramisu. i was eyeing up the cheesecake. nommmmmsssss….. there was also tarts. the best tarts that i’ve had were mini tarts made by an asian company. UGH, it was so good! they were meant for all the store employees, but.. um.. some employees didn’t want theirs, so um.. i got more than my share really, it is the truth!

chacha is enjoying her new hidey hut. i heard her cheewing and scratching the thing lol!

she knocked over my green tea mug earlier tonight!!! my tea was almost gone! she hass been so rebellious lately!! pet me pet me pet me! she is lucky that her mister john is coming tomorrow.. he can give her some attention i’m surprised she isn’t tired of me!

Do you get to see John at Christmas too? That would be nice for the 2 of you

I’m soooo ready for Christmas!!! OMG I cannot wait to be off work! I’m off from 22 until the 4th Mikey’s second xmas yeah!! I just LOVE Christmas time! Not winter-don’t get me wrong.

Gross-I was chatting with an old friend from ontario where I grew up….so I looked up the forecast there… it was cold here-actually the third coldest location on earth that day-about thirty below C (-22C) which isn’t that cold for us but it was sudden. And my forecast had I not moved? 14 ABOVE which is about 60f…. OMG GROSS!!!!

So weird growing up with border collies and huskies to move to a dog who is like a boxer or bulldog with no insulation!!!! Luckily I tell him he’s handsome in his coat so he wears it no problem!

I have currently gone through at least four sets of snow booties for Jenna, and at least ten or more sweaters/jackets trying to find a style she’ll wear in -40 F. I’ve never had to dress a dog before either, except for our huskies when they got older and couldn’t handle the cold as well due to degenerative bone disease. But now I’ve got to dress Jenna to the nines and I SO empathize with you there, K&K!

MM, I noticed some doggie clothes in the pet store the other day and thought of Jenna. But can’t imagine trying on jackets for dogs. An idea: what about getting a big hunk of fleece, or heavier outerwear cloth, and a roll of velcro, and just wrapping it and cutting it to her size? You could make a tube part with leg holes then some leg tubes that velcro to the body. Maybe a little hoodie. That way it would be just the right size. Like a puppy burrito.

Ooo, or a sleeping bag style tube with a trap door for her butt to pop out, do her business, wipe, then close. Make it machine washable.

My friend/former coworker came home from work this morning (she works overnight at a grocery store) to see her Lionhead bunny, Ernie dead in his cage

I’m saddened. Very sad. He was such a misunderstood fella. He would nibble and grunt at people but he never tried biting me. He was a fluffy bunny that didn’t mind being handled at all… really.

He was only 2-3 years old. A funny bunny, played with my friends cats, was a house bunny, had full run of the upstairs of the house

Anyway, that kept me occupied all of 2 minutes.  *sigh*

my manager is way too obbessive about work lol, seriously, she just had major surgery and within hours of waking up, she messages me on facebook asking about work! like dude, you just ot out of surgery, take a chill pill and RELAX a while, we will survive without you for a few days!

yesterday I spent my day babysitting..kids are weird. Austin(2) spent half an hour with my snakes water spray bottle, misting himself the the face and giggling like a maniac. lol ok it was pretty funny, but he was drenched by the time the bottle was empty, I had to dig through his diaper bag to find him some dry clothes lol. but ket me say…7 dogs in the house is very relaxing compared to 2 kids lol

Ernie was beautiful. My condolences to your friend. He’s sort of a James Dean of bunnies. Handsome, misunderstood, flash of fame and then gone, to be remembered by the few who knew him well and loved him.

Thank you, I will let her know. I’ll be going to her place in about 2 hours to keep her company. I’m not sure how she is doing. It sounds like she is keeping busy, she just went to a movie with her friend.

Ernie is adorable.   Thats so sad he was so young.    This was so sudden too.   Give your friend my condolences.

As for me…..      Still Sick.     Cough cough cough   n cough some more.  From 4-nearly 5 every morning.   Then when I go back to bed I can’t sleep cuz I am wheezing.   The inhaler doesn’t help.   Gosh     cough all day too

So yesterday after 1 1/2 month of this I went to the emergency room.   Fouad wasn’t home so I took the ambulance.   In emergency the put me on a nebulizer    oh wow could I ever breathe.   I had been short of breath.  At that point I had had enuf and called  911.   Took chest xray gave me prednizone and cough syrup.   I asked the Dr for some  more nebulizer and he said sure no problem.  

He said I have bronchitis.   I get it every year if I am not careful.     Had it for 3 months once.  the dr told me that a weird cough is going around this year.          2 months of coughing for several people even one of the dr’s and a nurse.         mine usually turns into bronchitis.

hubby got my meds today.     i am going back to my dr  and try to get a nebulizer.   i reallt should have one.

cotton has been staying away.   guess my coughing disturbs him.    tonite is the first time in a week he is sitting next to me to pet him.    i been so sick i hadnt cleaned their litterboxes wednesday.    and i am not one to neglect that.   i cleaned all their stuff saturday.  another reason cotton could be avoiding me is i hadnt treated his lip this week either.    after i treated it today he spent 4 hours with me petting him off n on.  i find that strange cuz he hates me treating it.   hmmmm go figure

hubby went n did laundry   he come back clothes are still damp.    he went to do laundry at 5:30.   he came back at 8.  no laundry.  i asked what happened.     rofl    he put the quarters in pushed the button.   nothing happened.   he had to go get help  lol.   he said he needed to pull the quarter thing out n he didnt know that.    he comes back at 9 with the laundry.   It only takes an hour to do laundry.  Poor fellow.     cant be upset he did his best.     

i couldnt be too upset stuff was still damp.   i just hung it on hangers n put them on the shower rod.

also   i was wondering if cotton thought i was marking my couch   cuz i had little accidents from coughing so hard n so much.  rofl…  maybe that was why he stopped coming for pettings 

thought that you might get a laugh outta this.    teheee    no the couch isnt bad.  i had a towel   just in case i couldnt jump up fast enuf  

aww bunny towne please get better!

i came home from my friends. i gave her brownies. we went to her backyard where ernie is buried. she made a cross with twigs and tied a string of xmas bells onto the cross. so when the wind blows, she can hear the bells. she really misses ernie. he would grunt whenever she entered her room. his territory was her room.

i cried when i saw where ernie was buried. he was such a funny bunny. rest in peace bunny.

i am sitting comfortably in my living room, watching the harry potter marathon on abc family, and chacha is running around the livng room. she is doing binkies and doing the bunny 500  she even let me sit on HER COUCH (A SINGLE SEAT CHAIR.. seriously, she is hilarous!) and PET HER..

i am in the middle of looking for another job. i received a phone call from a vitamin place in my city. they wanted me to do a survey online and if i do get an interview, they will call. if they decide i am not for the job, they will send an email. so far, no email, so i am assuming that they are still looking through the surveys potential workers have done. when the lady called, she did a mini interview. she was super nice. i really don’t know much about vitamins. i do take some – multivitamin, and vitamin b12.

Jersey, chacha is okay with the wsp she inspected em at first… and she’s doing well! I am amazed at how the pellets break apart after a bunny goes pee! Wow woow wow! I will pick up more soon

My dad just wrote me from where he lives in Hawaii and said they’re finally getting rain there ending a drought that’s gone on for the last few years, I think? 0_o
Okay…tropical island = no rain apparently in today’s climate. 0_o
‘Course…all the pacific weather systems are coming up here now and dumping snow on us at a furious rate, so….can’t complain. It’s better than the -30’s F we’ve got planned for this week.

Brittany, I am sorry to hear about Ernie. Gosh what a beautiful rabbit he was! Like a Siamese Persian rabbit! I’ve never seen one quite like that. Love the tongue shot.
Please pass my heartfelt condolences to your friend also. It is sad, so many bunnies lost this year.

Jeez, we must be going to have an earthquake or something. My Griffy cat has been more of a pest than usual for about 3 days. He won’t leave any of us alone! PET ME LOOK AT ME HERE I AM MIAOOOWW! It’s getting to be more than disturbing. >_<

Pam: There’s actually quite a few nice things here to help keep little doggies warm on these cold nights. But Jenna hates to wear them. I could probably make her some fleece stuff, but it absorbs water really well, so when she gets it full of snow and her body temp warms that snow….you get wet dog and wet dog in freezing weather is a recipe for disaster.
Unfortunately, Yorkies don’t have an undercoat at all like some dogs. Their fur is more like our hair in consistency. It’s easy as pie to keep her comfortable in summer, but winter is a nightmare.
I just ordered some neoprene booties for her to keep her feet warm. Neoprene is the material they make wetsuits from. I just hope it’s pliable enough she’ll even walk in them without high-stepping like a rookie.

I don’t know, but if it doesn’t stop soon, ONE of us is going to need a straitjacket. 0_o Or a bag of catnip might work.

Hubby just came in and said it has to be -30 F out there. >_< Darnit…I still have to walk Jenna tonite. Well it's going to be a short one. It had been so nice this last weekend I thought I was going to be able to get some snaps of the dog outside so I could post them to Petzy's thread. By the time it gets warm enough for that (and I finally remember my stupid camera) all the light for picture taking will be gone out there.

Hey…here’s a topic…my short term is getting terrible (old age you know), who has some good tips for making your memory better? (except for the tying a string on your finger thing…I don’t think that really works…unless you just want to lose circulation in that finger)

Oh yes Mimsmum.   I can totally relate.   When it is real cold I usually wear a niqab.  A face veil.  It keeps my nose warm and from having to blow every 5 steps.     lol by the time you find a hanky it is frozen  lol.    Very annoying I know

What a day.  Went to my regular doc.   Just wanted to give me antibiotics.  That doesn’t cure bronchitis.  It isn’t viral.  I liked that ER dr.  HE was good and very informative.  He verified that bronchitis is not viral.  Anyhoo my doc didn’t want to give me anything but and said use the inhaler I had.  WEll if it worked for the last 4 days I would not have gone to ER.

Hubby went to see his doc today.  He takes my ins. too so I saw him instead.  He gave me 5 things for this bronchitis.  Reading the papers that come with the scripts I found out this was all for bronchitis asthma and breathing.  Cool.   Got the nebulizer too.  

Came home all looking forward to using it.   Guess what.  I can’t find where I put the breathing apparatus.  I dont’ even remember taking it out or anything.   It was there though.   Gosh.  Guess my brain is starting to go from lack of oxygen or something lol.

Well maybe it is in the truck.   Tomorrow when it is daylight we will go look.   I do feel much better now after taking the new meds.  Way less coughing.   That prednisone is working too.  Only coughed like 5 times when the cough syrup wore off.  That was at like 4 am.   Gosh tomorrow is gona be a day of rest rest rest.

Plus hubby is getting some new glasses.  This pair has lasted 20 years.  He has super glued them taped them caulked them and they look quite funny.   He will look so good when these new ones come in.  I can’t wait.   I am so excited.  I gotta take pics of the old ones lol.  

His vision hasn’t changed much though.  Thats excellent.  Yep he finally went back to the eye dr.  His regular doc was besides himself.  HE has seen hubby 2 months in a row.  Usually you got to drag and threaten not to refill his meds to get him to go lol. Fouad is such a difficult patient.  He complains to me his throat itches.  I say take some allergy medicines.  He refuses so I tell him if you choose to suffer then quit complaining.   He goes to his dr and complains again today.  lol.   His dr says why don’t you take an allergy med.  As he has told him time n time again previous visits lol.   Stubborn my goodness.  lol

3 and a half hours til the WoW expansion weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Midnight releases ftw.

BT I’m with you there. Stubborn hubbies and needing to see the doctors. I think mine had pneumonia for weeks before he finally went in recently. There’s just no shifting him till he feels bad enough to finally do it himself most of the time! They make the worst patients.
My eyesight is getting very much worse. I am afraid to go to the doc and find out it’s something like macular degeneration or something. So I guess I can’t talk….

Ever since I was little I loved the Narnia stories, so I have no doubt I will see the new movie. But I will likely wait til it is on dvd, as I can not for the life of me be comfortable in a theatre anymore.

I will literally FORCE my boyfriend (future husband) TO THE DOCTORS!! I am pro health, and if there is something wrong, YOU GET YOUR BUM TO THE DOCTOR ASAP!! I am the same way with my dad. He is so stubborn! I say “WHY are you paying for insurance then?” I don’t mess around I’m bossy, but I care about my dad. I will thump my foot at them.

I have 3 job interviews this week, and I am so stressed and nervous It’s like being back at school and having exams…and I have alwasy loved written exams and hated the oral ones. And nothing have changed. I think I prefer if we could do job interviews like written exams

Online school! That is so cool. So you don’t have to go to oral exams then? My type of school. When I went to university, we didn’t have to be present (of course), and I loved that. I used to study on my own and just show up when it was time for the exams – well more or less, of course I did show up to some of the lectures, but I just prefer studying on my own.

Yeah, I got the job at the animal hospital – unfortunately, they can only offer me 5-10 hours a week, so it’s a no go job. Well, 2 more days to go, and then I won’t have stomach aches and be stressed!  

nope, i do not think any oral exams it is based by writing and online exams. i am still looking into what would be the best fit for me.

the wife of the owner interviewed me. she said i would have to be transitioned due to other things going on at the place. she said to not quit the job that i have now, but to work with them. they will work around my work schedule, give me 10 hours a week and train me, and in january, they can give me 20-25 hours weekly. i am still keeping an open mind. i really want to work for winco, a grocer. my friend is keeping tabs on the hiring board for me. it is a GREAT place to work for, it is employee owned. they also invest in their employees and have crazy awesome insurnace o_O;; who knew deductibles were $100? and eye exams were free, glasses and contacts are $10?!?!?! O__O holy toledo!!

anyways, i think i can deal with being at my job for a while.. i just wanna get the heck out of there. i strongly dislike working with people that can’t communicate with me. really, that is what a job is all about, communication! my boss is never there and doesn’t prefer speaking to the american workers. its quite sad and pathetic really. the juice bar owners gave me their phone numbers. they said cell phones are fine while working, but for working reasons only. they love getting questions, so if i have one, i can shoot a text to them

karla, so you have 2 more interviews? i hope they offer more hours!! i hate how employers will start so low.. i wish they would say if those hours were permanent, or if they would give you more as the time goes on >.>

today is the day that my mother passed. it has been 1 year. how time flies. i miss her dearly.

That’s sad, Brittany. I can imagine it must be a really sad tough day for you and even more when you got the job and have some good news to share. What die she die from?

The new job sounds great, juice bar can be a fun job. I worked at one during university. I remember we used to make up juice cocktails when it was slow. Some were awesome, some not so much….LOL

it is hard. i think that having the interview on the date is special. i am a little superstitious.

my mom passed of stage 4 (highest and hard to recover from) ovarian cancer. she was diagnosed in april 2009 and passed in december 2009. i was left with making all of the decisions, as my brother was never in the picture. but i got through it, and i don’t know how!! o_o humans are capable of many things..

i’m currently checking into schools online. i will be going into the medical field as a medical assistant/medical office assistant. i really want to work in a clinic or hospital with cancer patients. even if it means just checking them in, getting vitals, dealing with their billing. i want to be the one to put a smile on their face and say ‘i understand.’

i told someone, i would rather cry and get emotional at my job, than be angry and unhappy. i have a heart and i want to use it to help people.

meh.. i am looking for orchard hay available on craigslist. i AM UTTERLY confused with how hay cuts are. what are the softest type? o_O;; beh!! all the places offering hay are cities that are so far from me!!

Sorry to hear that, but it is really great how you turn it in into something positive and use it to help others.

Well, at least you have different varieties. I can chose between 4 types of mixed hay types from Vitakraft, and that’s it. Do you buy it from people with horses? ‘Cause that is what I have been thinking might be an option for me.

me as well. i’ve heard there are some meadow grass bales too.. i bought a small bag of meadow grass (i suffer from hay allergies) and chacha loved it, and i loved not sneezing!

i’m heading to a farm and feed store on thursday. the person i spoke to told me to come and inspect the hay for myself.

I just dropped by to tease you guys… it’s “winter” in San Diego. Right now the sun is shining, there’s a light breeze, and it’s 65 degrees F.

74 F right now in Los Angeles… and in 14 days I leave for Milan, where it’s now 37 F, and it snowed last week. I haven’t been home in a year, so I don’t even remember what cold feels like. It’s going to be rough

What!!! meadow hay at the feed store!!!   All we get are alfalfa and timmy.   And mix of alfalfa and timmy.  One feed store was interested in the sheesh  what was it can’t remember.   Some hay I ordered from Leith petworks or something.  I haven’t ordered anymore to bring them so they can see if they would like to carry it too.   It stayed green never turned yellow.  May have been meadow hay I will have to go look.

we are getting a camera! a good one, a Nikon D3100(SLR) I am so exited I have seriously been dreaming of a Nikon DSLR for about 7 years now, although the D80 is my dream, the D3100 is no slouch :p finally made possable as an agreement between my mom and I..we are splitting it, we are splitting the cost as x-mas present to eachother, and made even better because my mom BF is chipping in as his x-mas present to us :p we went to go get it today(its on sale) but they ran out of stock this morning, so as soon as the next truck comes, the first one off the truck is on hold for us.

I just popped into this thread to complain about Christmas shopping! I started early-not nearly done. Haven’t started Christmas cards. And this week is a nightmare. I’m doing a pet first aid course tomorrow after work (ok that’s going to be awesome) -more shopping after work on Thursday-with my dad. (dad plus mall will make lesley blow up!!!) and friday I have to rush to my hair dresser for an updo and then rush home and then off to dave’s christmas party. Oh and a work party during the day with all the directors and vps on thurday..Yeah thursday I’m likely going to implode. Oh and my bro’s gf birthday on Saturday.

I can tell you now-I’m going to stay locked in my bedroom all Sunday recovering. I am not a social being lol

I could have sworn it was 77 degrees outside just 3 days ago, but now it’s only 40! It’s gotten cold enough for Peppy to become a cuddle bunny…seems like a common misconception that bunnies are cute and cuddly, but Peppy doesn’t really mind hugs these days! I’m not sure if it’s because she wants the body warmth or because she’s more okay with being closer to us; she’s also been climbing into my boyfriend’s lap for pets lately, so who knows.

thanks peppypoo! my mom was half japanese, so it felt like a nice honor to put the character for ‘my mother’ next to the cancer ribbon it was hard to go to work on the day taht she passed, but i had a good time laughing with my coworker. she always makes for good conversation! i’ll be doing something with my grandma this weekend. she was there with me when my mom passed!

I think my dad made SPAM for breakfast a little too much for me when I was young (and he never watched Monty Python either) so I have a real aversion to it now.

Yes, Brittany, third cut…it’s the softest of the timothy hays, no seedheads, no pollen (well not much) and mostly all leaf, but if it isn’t harvested properly, it becomes browned and brittle, then just turns to dust most of it. The box I recently got is very dusty and brown, but the buns will still eat it. Unfortunately I think it’s part of the reason Mimzy’s nose is acting up again.

Normally these folks have superior hay, it is almost the only thing the buns will eat next to BB.com oat. It’s not the producer’s fault really, it was just a very rainy year. Nothing really nice grew this year. I have a huge box of nice bluegrass form them, which is also like 3rd cut but more stiff, and they won’t touch it, picky things. >.<

But my BB box arrived today at last (I was dumb enough not to send it first class, so it went parcel) and the buns got their oat AND Mimzy got his timothy treats (YAY!)…I think he was beginning to despair that he’d ever eat one again.

Ooo, so it is the weather, huh? I heard 2010 was the warmest year so far. I find it untrue. Well, there was only a few days when it got to nearly 100. Washington barley had a summer. it quickly turned into fall. it is raining right now as I type. I hope i have more hope with finding the orchard at the feed store. Meh. I am thinking of bringing some of the hay chacha likes as reference.

chacha is sitting in her box i gave her – it is made of chinese newspapers twisted up into a box. she likes to sit in it (and sometimes poop, she is really smart lol) and eat hay that i’ve put into it. i got her a new willow ball today.

i’m thinking about sleeping down in the living room tonight. i hope chacha doesn’t wake me up by moving her x-pen my bed is beginning to get really uncomfortable. i hope the house is sold soon. my dad and i will be hitting up ikea for furniture! i will be getting a queen sized bed, YAY!!

@Brittany – Funny you should mention Big Bang Theory…I’m pretty sure we’re naming the nethie girl Shelly, a shorter/feminized version of Sheldon, because she has a very particular *spot* she always likes to lie down. My bunnies have always liked chilling under furniture, but the girlie likes to plop down smack dab in the middle of the living room where there’s a high ceiling! And it’s not just anywhere in the middle…always the same place, about 4 feet away from the couch. What a funny bunny . Of course, she’ll probably just be called “Bunny” at home; I guess it’s more like the official title for our resident house bunny, no matter their name (that’s what we called Tammo too). Hmm, I should change my siggy…
  

Yay, today celebrates one month of no vet visits for Peppy! We adopted mid-August her for free (I know…) off Craigslist from a family to whom she had been given as a gift…the mom said that the two young boys had quickly lost interest in her, so they no longer wanted to keep her . At her initial vet visit, we found out she had moderate malocclusion and severely overgrown upper incisors, ear mites, ringworm, and an upper respiratory infection, poor girl . However, I guess her teeth were close enough to being normal that after several weeks of repeated trimming, they finally grew back correctly! Then, of course, came the spay.  I thought we done with the vet for a while after that, but she came down with enterotoxemia and spent two nights in the ER, after the vet told us that she had a very grim prognosis. Luckily, she’s bounced back to being her mischievous self, and is actually giving me a tongue bath as I type this . And to think, we got her for free…what an expensive bunny! Of course, she’s worth every penny we’ve spent on making sure she’s a healthy bun. So here’s to two one month of good health, and hopefully many more!

Eh…as far as pain is concerned, yeah, it’s mostly old age stuff. I have a lot of back trouble and my legs are getting more uncomfortable as I age. All typical stuff though. *shrugs*

We’ve had pretty rotten summers for the last few years. When it wasn’t all wildfires like ’04 – ’06, we’ve had about a week of nice temps, then stuff that’s too hot for us (usually anything 80 and above) and then rainrainrainrainrain…..bleah.

I’ve been listening to the weather radio here and I guess the coldest temps for this week of the year are recorded in 1935, while the warmest temps were only a year previous, in 1934! Weird. Just weird.

They are rare in those parts, so Jersey will be wealthy soon as the Spam Sushi craze catches on around the globe and only the first Spam Farms are able to provide this rare delicacy. It requires wetlands. Fishy smell is added later for effect. (Somebody mail Jersey some galoshes and a slicker please?)

i think that.. i may have chosen my college i wish to attend online. it is located on the east coast, but i spoke to an admissions person personally and he showed me the demo online and explained many things to me. i will have to take 2 classes every 5 weeks. there is college math *le puke face* but i will have to do it anyways. the college just ADDED a new course to the medical assistant program. it is radiology! i would get to learn how to do x-rays!! it is something MA’s don’t learn in college! that just OPENS UP more job opportunities for me! i won’t be enrolling yet, i am keeping an open mind, but the school is sticking in my head

the house has 2 bidders.. i think. lol. it is moving very fast. i must get into the garage and get stuff i want to donate as soon as possible.. but i’m so lazy, and the garage is SO COLD

i went into a farm supply store and i got hay samples of orchard. ick. of course, cha cha did NOT EAT IT!!

edit: my friend is drawing up my tattoo. it looks really good. he is doing some changes i requested. he has the rabbit’s tail AS FLAMES.. well, a little flame, and around its neck is a flame. it looks like a flame scarf! amazing!

i’m glad you like the vet, brittany! i’m glad i found her, i was never happy with any of the vets i had been to before.

i’m on the hay hunt too. my normal hay i had to throw out because i found mold on it. anyone who has KMS 2nd cut timothy might want to look closely at the brown strands, i found a few that were moldy. the boys haven’t been too fond of the last oxbow hay i got, which is the reason i think warri got gassy last night.

peppi & warri, i noticed the same with oxbow. my bunny ONLY eats soft orchard grass and the grass all of a sudden got thick and coarse. bunny snubbed me and wouldn’t eat it. i went to the pet store that our vet recommended they are terrific! the store even holds OXBOW MEADOW GRASS!! my picky bunny will eat meadow grass! so i left the store with 3 bags and a happy face. i gave her some as soon as i got home and she nommmeddd it right up

the vet did accupuncture on chacha’s ears she is really nice and i love how she does follow up phone calls. i just got a newsletter in the mail from the office

we got the camera today :p cant use it yet though we agree’d that since its our x-mas present, we are going to leave it until christmas, gives us something to look forward too :p so now I have to sit there and stare it in on my mantle for over 2 weeks lol

so is hay from petstores reasonbaly priced in other places? I buy a 35lb bale from the feed store for $10..around here you cant buy more then a single handful of hay from a petstore..and even that will run you about $15!  I would go broke feeding 2 rabbits hay for a week lol  

well the thing is, i went to petstores. for some reason the distrubutor’s hay isn’t so good. well, it isn’t good because my chacha won’t eat it. she is a fussy picky hay eater. she won’t eat orchard grass (her staple, i usually mix in some oat) if it is thick and coarse.

i went to a feed store and i took home some hay scraps. it was ignored by my bunny.

i ordered some orchard off of the bb store, as monkeybun said, the hay is extremely good and soft. if it is soft, i will order a big box from the bb store. such a picky baby i have lol!

i got 3 bags of meadow grass because i can’t ever find it in stores normally, and chacha will eat it like she does with orchard grass. and i was right, she nommed it right up when i gave some to her!

i am waiting for my bb box. i think it’ll arrive in the next few days!

lol my guys love their feed store hay, they got some BB hay in their “free gift” last week…they liked the cookie in it, but wouldnt touch the hay :p

the thing is, my bunny likes the moist dark green orchard grass. hehehe. i don’t know what is going on with the supplier, or if it is the weather that is hurting the hay. it could be anything really. i hope that the organic orchard i am getting in the mail is nice and soft.

I am considering it big time! I will have 2 classes every 5 weeks. I will need to be certified in more things besides just Medical Assistant, but if it opens up more pathways for me, the better. I am so happy that they added a Radiography class (X-rays). I love looking at X-rays.. they’re always different and it keeps me on my feet

my normal hay i had to throw out because i found mold on it. anyone who has KMS 2nd cut timothy might want to look closely at the brown strands, i found a few that were moldy.

                                     OH NO! I have 25 lbs. of bluegrass and 45 lbs of 3rd cut timothy from them. (the timmy is the one I was talking about that’s all browned and dusty, but I don’t see/smell any mold on it so far) I have to buy it in large quantities to make the shipping charge worth it and so we don’t run out before spring. Geez, it’s the only one they’ll eat too, besides the BB.com oat. I don’t want to have to throw it all away! They’ve snubbed everything else, including fresh orchard I just got from my local stores.

                                      How did you notice the mold, P&W? Is it obvious or hard to find? My house is so dark and my eyesight so bad I’m not sure I’ll be able to see it, bt I may be able to smell a difference if my hay is moldy.

mimzmum, since you don’t have the 2nd cut timothy, you’re probably fine. i just happened to be looking at their hay and saw a strand that was covered in white fuzzy mold. then i looked through a few more handfuls of the hay and found a couple more moldy pieces. it was only the brown pieces, too. the hay smelled fine and for all i know it got moldy after i got the hay, since i had gone through half the hay by then and hadn’t seen anything.

Grandma and I got together. We went to a casino together. We ate at the buffet. OMG, there was TARTS!!!!!!! I LOVE TARTS!! NOMLICIOUS FRUIT!!  I had a yummy salad.. I’ve been craving a salad. I had a mixed greens salad with cheese, olives, sunflower seeds.. uh, and I think crutons?  I had put ranch dressing on it.. oh man, I’m still craving a salad  

Anyways, after, grandma and I gambled. I wasn’t allowed to gamble with my own money, but I lost  Before I lost all of the money, I went to get a strawberry daiquiri. It tasted like a strawberry smoothie  I couldn’t taste the alcohol.

I got carded twice. It felt like everytime I walked around the corner in the casino, someone is asking for my ID 

Grandma and I went shopping afterward. I got khaki pants for my new job, an extra small gift for my boyfriend (for X-Mas) and I found a purple kitty litter box (no top) for Chacha  I absolutely COULD NOT pass up the purple! It is the same as she has now, just a different color

My dad is baby sitting Chacha for the night. I’ll be home tomorrow night.. There will be inspectors coming tomorrow. I hope the house sells.. I am tired of living at a house  Too darn big! I hope that the people still want the house after the inspection.. that means I can start PACKING and CLEANING 

I had no reception on my phone when I was in the casino. I did not get a voice mail until tonight that I will be filling out paperwork at my new work on Monday morning  YIPEE 

lol I am always suprised when I dont get carded for something, I look really young, when I graduated high school, people thought I was graduating grade 8. at craven this past year, I was talked about by security as “that girl who looks like she’s 14 but is older then most of us!” I am mid 20’s BTW lol I am always prepared to just whip out my ID because of that, so when I dont get carded I get flustered lol

I worked at my new job for about 2 hours. The time went by fast when I was helping the owner’s wife make smoothies. There is a lot to remember. People drink meal replacement shakes? Wow.. I wonder how often they do that.. I know if it occurs often, it isn’t good for one’s body.

I also have to tie my hair up.. in a half ponytail. My hair is.. really short. But oh well. I’m not fond of pony tails because after a while, it will leave a crease in ones hair

I think originally the meal replacement style foods came on as a result of the space program…lol. Now of course it’s a weight loss deal but….
Is anyone here old enough to remember Space Food Sticks? I miss those, they were delicious! Like a very very soft tootsie roll. I got them in my lunch every day.
I sympathize with you on putting your hair up, Brittany. I have very long hair and it’s a nuisance. I have to pile it somewhere on top of my head that it doesn’t hurt to pin it, then I usually twist it and put a spider clip in. But it usually winds up getting snagged on the bunnies’ habitats while I’m cleaning them. It makes me beyond crazy! I am about ready to shave my head! >_<

lol…no worries about carding here…I haven’t been carded since I turned 25 I think. Must be that ‘old soul’ look about me! lol…..

Ugh I know that long hair feeling MM. Mine is down to my butt now, and its a pain sometimes. I have to braid it every night before bed or I end up yanking out a bunch in my sleep as I roll around stealing blankets from my hubby

There was a tornado just south-east of Salem Oregon around noon today. Thats like an hour from me, and my hubby’s mom lives in Salem. Scariness

Yeah, the tornado was SE of salem.

We actually get mini tornadoes here in Alaska in summer. Some people call them dust devils, but we got caught in one outside Sam’s when we first got here 15 years ago that took the new queen sized mattress we’d just bought off the roof of our car and sent it all the way across the parking lot. 0_o

The weather is so wonky. We had that unseasonal rain last month that made the roads so nasty (we did a few spins today going to town), finally it’s starting to get more like it should be this time of year, but I could live without it. >.< We're looking at some -40 for the next few days…yuck. I managed to almost flash freeze my hands this evening getting groceries out of the car.
And then all that snow back east that they weren’t prepared for…I’m still hoping Boston’s owner got home to her bunny okay.

I’m thinking of buying a new winter coat – can you guys recommend any particular brand? I’m in the northeast and it’s been so cold lately so I’m looking for something very warm! I have a coat from LL Bean that isn’t very warm and an old Northface coat which keeps me decently warm. But I’d love to get some input from you guys in the colder climates (Alaska, Canada) are wearing – thanks!

Sigh, got home yesterday and have been frustrated with the way my mom is taking care of Remi. Sorry guys, have to rant somewhere…

Remi is a pretty new addition to our household, and definitely a no-touchy bun, something we’re not used to (as opposed to dear Tammo). My mom think’s it’s fun and “good exercise” to chase the poor bun around the living room…every time Remi stops under the couches, my mom pokes at/reaches toward her to get her running again. I keep telling her not to bother the bun, but she says that it’s good for Remi to get some activity and exercise, and that it’ll probably get her used to more touching. I try to tell my mom that we should let Remi approach us at her own pace, but she just blows off my suggestions with something along the lines of “Oh you and your rules on how things should be done…just trust me, it’s fine.” Recently, she even told me that a “new way” she discovered to get Remi to tolerate touching is to chase Remi until she’s tired and lies down, then pet her! That’s so terrible!

Also, she gives Remi small handfuls of hay at a time, because it’s “too messy” otherwise. I offered to make a trough or something to put in Remi’s cage to keep the hay contained, but my mom insists that it’s better to just take little bits of hay out at a time so that it doesn’t lose it’s freshness and fragrance. I’ve already managed to get my mom used to the idea that veggies are a central part of a bunny’s diet, and should not only be given sparingly as treats (Tammo had seizures throughout his life, which seemed to be exacerbated by fresh veggies, so we limited veggies in his diet). I know my mom has the bunny’s best interests in mind, but she’s just stubborn and thinks she’s doing the right thing. It probably doesn’t help that I’m a little hardheaded and tend to argue with her (maybe a bit too much) about various things, so she’s used to blowing off my advice and suggestions.

Sigh, I’ve got my work cut out for me over break.

Peppy, perhaps print out a packet of rabbit information for your mom? I’m sorry she is acting like that.. I love how bunnies are independant minded and like to run on their own accord. It makes it such a treat. Poor Remi poo I hope she is alright. Have you told your mom that rabbits are ‘prey animals’ and do not like to be chased? I hope that she will understand that concept.

Queensbun, I don’t have the brand of my jacket in my jacket.. BUT I would recommend a double down jacket. It got to the teens where I am last month and i was completely warm

My  neighbor gave me a v ery nice coat last winter.   She had lived in Switzerland and bought it from there.  It is one of those long long ones.  I think my son may have accidentally used my leather coat cuz the leather one i have now I can’t  button.   Too small.

I stay warm in the long one though. 

Went to the pain Dr yesterday.   I got 2 shots in the fanny and got to moon the city of Melbourne in the process.  We were   6 floors up and no one could see anyway  lol.   I figure if I have to expose my botton for 2 pokes might as well moon the city.   The 2 staff ladies got a laugh outta that.

ME I got a sore left cheek and a burning right cheek.   They are going to call me for a specialist to give 3 injections directly into the muscle that is stuck in a spasm. 

Wow JG   that is some wet land there. 

Got some good muscle relaxer too. 

I like this chat post  this is a great idea.  Really is.   I enjoy reading about everyone and getting to know you better.

Oh my sleep number bed.   I hate that thing.  I had to get the air pressure in it 5x a nite now.  My mom when she came she said she should have listened to me and got me that super hard mattress I wanted.   I give up on this bed.  Last nite i took it apart to make sure the hose was attached right.   IT was.  I am going to duct tape it around the attachment piece.  If that doesn’t work I will just leave it on 25 lbs.   That way I get a nice hard bed for i got 2 plywoods under it and a cushion on top of the plywood so my hip bones don’t dig into the plywood.

I don’t recommend this bed for people who need super hard mattress.  It won’t hold up for very long and you got to keep replacing the air chamber.   Anything less than 80 lbs hurts my back .   On hubby’s side of the  bed feel like you are going to tumble out   So I stuffed some foam in there and it is better.  Mom saw that and said she should have just listened to me and got me a regular mattress.   I had just found The One and called ot let her know but she had already got this one.  

I won’t replace anything agian on it.  Didn’t hold up. 

I don’t want to get started on getting donation items together.

we had the work puppy party on sunday..it was BUSY, holy moly! the last 2 years the puppy party has been pretty small and slow, but it was non stop this year, we had the goody and vistiting area in the daycare this year instead of the office, the daycare is like 6 times the size of the office and it was packed the whole 3 hours, and we were doing tours, there was like 4 of us doing tours and all 4 of us had to take large groups through each tour, and the second we dropped one tour group off at the goodies, we had another group waiting, it was insane lol everyone really liked it though and were really impressed, it was fun having people tell me how thay used to go to this kennel and that daycare and would be told how tired their dogs would be when they got home, but if anything their dogs were MORE amped then they were to start with, and they come to us and there dogs get home, curl up on their fav. spot and sleep all day and night, having to be dragged outside to pee lol

I contemplated going to a tree lighting in Portland. Glad I didn’t… the FBI and the portland police arrested some 19 year old kid attempting to bomb the place. He said he wanted to hit Oregon cuz no one ever thinks of Oregon. Is an easy target I guess.

Luckily, the FBI was on the ball and had been watching the kid for ages. Evidently he wanted to participate in a jihad since he was 15. Idiot.

lol I was home in WA when that happened and my dad’s grand-daughter in law (?) was in the singing Christmas tree there at the tree lighting lol.

Oh. Guess what happened?
Chacha chewed my phone charger. Phone died.

Going to Walmart to get another. My dad won’t be too happy He bought my charger, lol.

Friends I am still sick.   I hennead my hair friday it stayed wet a few hours.  Went to bed got up was cold.  Rainy.  I got feverish agian.  No ER though.       WEnt to DR monday     TAke your inhalers girl and gave me more meds to slow my racing heart.     And singulair for asthma stuff.         Got some generic tussin  .99 a bottle on sale we got 4.   Since am gona be sick for a while might as well get prepared.

As of Dec 22 will be the beginning of month 3 sicky.

So I took pics n vids of cotton.   I slept good today.   Am uploading the vids but taking forever.  We got a new 40 turbo mg or whatever service.  I called  and they are comign thursday to get it up n running.        I forgot how long it takes to upload video to photobucket n image shack so I can share them here.           Cotton been napping today all day. 

Fouad is doing something weird with the food again.   Sun is setting.   Xmas is around the corner folks.  What are y’all getting? 

The neighbor put lights all over the stairs last week.    I like that looks so nice.    I might just buy some green n blue lights on sale after xmas and put them up around our windows.   Very romantic you know.

Oh Oh Oh Oh ! I think I know what Im getting for Christmas!!! I couldnt work out what this pressie was under the tree, and I like to guess what they all are, so I measured the box, and googled the dimensions that I had, and it said its the same as an Ipad Box!!! I coulnd’t weigh it because we dont have scales but the measurements of the box are exactly right!!! OOOOOOHHHHHHH!

I have no idea. My dad said he is getting me something and giving me some money. I think I’m gonna spend that on a pedicure. My feet are gross. You know.. working women’s feet.

I have an official closing date. My dad and I should be in the new apartment by the middle of January.

i was wondering…if we could start a ‘holiday chat thread’-for people to jump on, on Christmas day to share what they got, what they gave, escape from crazy family members (not *cough* at all like my grandmother) and exclaim or vent about their holidays…and then to continue to new years-complete with maybe a count down for those of use on during the countdown….maybe that would be cool with different members from different areas posting happy new years when they hit midnight….
But I wanted to ask and see what you guys thought?

Great idea! Let’s do it! Av hits new year first I think, followed by jersey and I half an hour later… I think America is a day behind us timewise…. While we are counting down, you guys will all be sleeeepinggg!!! Lol
