I let Samantha out this morning, leading to her favorite under-my-bed spot. While she was there, I vacuumed her habitat, took a damp rag to wash it down and dried it and pulled out all the throw rugs and tossed them into the washer/dryer.
Not crazy about how those bath rugs are holding up. All cotton and not stick on the backs so safe, but they are not great and she pushes them all around, sometimes stranding herself on the dreaded vinyl.
So I took some advice from you guys and tried something new. Went to Walmart and got 1 1/2 yd. of 100% cotton flannel. (The fleece was thicker but poly. so I want to stick with cotton.) I got a light green solid color. I had left her stranded on one little clean rug under her tent. When I got home I let her out and lay the flannel sheet under most of her things in her cage. Left the litter pan and food dishes on seagrass mattes, so she won’t spill or pee on the flannel if that’s possible to avoid.
She investigated the flannel by walking on it. Pushed the throw rug around under the tent. Lay down under the tent with the throw rug as a pillow prop, stretched out on the flannel and took a good, long, deep nap.
I think she likes it.
It occured to me that a good floor cover would be a baby or twin sized cotton bed quilt. Couldn’t find one though.
