As if worrying about bonding, Mr. Bunny’s infection, and him starting on Penicillin shots isn’t enough…
Three days ago, Mr. Bunny somehow hurt his paw when he was running to get treats during a bonding session. He was still putting some weight on it, and only his claws seemed to bother him, so I figured that he had just caught a claw in the rug while he was running.
I still wasn’t concerned yesterday. He’s hurt his claws before, and it usually takes until the next day for him to start hopping on it normally. He was putting less weight on it, but that didn’t concern me.
Well, his paw is even more sore today. He can’t seem to quite get it comfortable. The only comfortable position for him seems to be with the whole paw bent under his chest. He puts hardly any weight on it while he’s hopping. He also gasps and jumps away when I touch or bend the paw. After I touched it today, he didn’t even want a craisin – that’s HIGHLY unusual for him.
Should I get this checked out? I’m going to see if the vet can look at it today when he gets his first injection, but I’m not sure if they’d be willing to do so when they were just giving a shot. Any ideas as to what he could have done to it by just running fast on a rug?
