He is acting scared but I have no idea why. I blocked off entrances to get behind the couch in my living room when I let him out and he was really tense. So I unblocked and he has been hiding instead of running or socializing. I had the vaccuum on hours ago, and only for a sec. Do you think he is still scared??

Could be he heard something or smelled something that scared him. Let him relax, and he will come out on his own once he knows it is safe

Definitely give him some quiet time. Rupert can be super jumpy. His fears: Corduroy pants (me too! But fine work appearal lol), cooking especially in a skillet, coming into the bunny room wearing a jacket or sunglasses (or any of that funny buisness)-so weird noises or me not looking like I should. Likely their was a trigger that you didn’t notice. He’ll be fine though-Rupert often realizes things aren’t THAT scary when he can have some raisins.

maybe he is afraid of the vacum and if you had the vacum in the area where he plays then maybe he thinks you might turn the vacum back on. so you probably wanna let him come out on his own and he will learn that it is safe. And when he does come out be sure to give him some treats.

The first time Sammy saw me in my post-shower bright green hair turban he literally flung himself at the sides of his pen trying to escape from the scary hair turban alien. Rabbits are weird. Just give him time and he’ll go back to normal lol

Dutchess is not a vacuum cleaner fan either, but she’s getting used to it. Slowly. I have yet to scare her with my appearance, even dressed in a towel with fuzzy sleepers and head covered in big hot rollers, she is unphased. Could it be possible that he got scared, but then discovered that he likes it under the couch and wants to hang out? Dutchess loves to hide under furniture, she thinks no one can get her there. Even that big scary thing that sucks at the carpet.

Re: jackets, sunglasses and turbans – I read that it’s the silhouette that a bunny sees and recognizes, so if you change your shape they get scared because they don’t know it’s you from a distance. The same thing would happen if you wore a box. (Corduroy is just funny. That sound was always weird.)
