        Long time no see.

        Frankie has a gunky eye. He doesn’t seem to be in any pain – he is eating, peeing, binkying around as normal. We’ve finally cracked getting close to him, and I’ve touched it, wiped it, swabbed it, and he has no issue whatsoever, he just lets me get on with it. I’m going to take him to the vet, that’s not an issue. I’d just like some feedback about how much of an emergency it is, as I don’t think I can take him til Friday without a big fuss. here is a picture.

        Has anyone seen this before? As you can see, his eye isn’t swollen, nor is it visibly dribbling. Major gets gunk in his eye on a regular basis which he grooms out, but Frankie has a wet patch the size of his cheek and it’s not really drying out.

        Any ideas? Thanks!

        EDIT: I don’t like taking pictures with the flash, but I couldn’t get a picture without it. I was almost a metre away and this is blown up. I don’t usually take pictures with flash. :S

          It could be a number of things. It’s good you are taking him to the vet.

          I had a rabbit who had perpetual weepy eye from possibly the root of his teeth growing up towards his eyes. Also could be an infection. It’s just really hard to know what it is based on a photo.

              Ditto-could be an infection or a tooth problem-just so hard to tell. As long as he doesn’t appear to be in pain and is eating…that’s probably fine to wait until friday but I wouldn’t leave it much longer {{Vibes}}

                I also say get his teeth checked, when I first got Rufus he had weepy eyes and since we have his teeth fixed no more weepy eyes.

                  I was quite pleased to get an appointment for yesterday morning. The vet thinks it’s probably not his teeth, because he’s still very young. (Although his teeth are apparently not growing straight, so it may be a problem in the future. :S) She has given us eye drops for him as it’s likely an infection, but we’ve got no idea where he picked it up.

                  Got an appointment next week to have Frankie and Major neutered – proper nervous! Our poor buns!

                    Glad you got him checked. I hope that’s all it needs and clears up fast.
