now that we have 3 bunnies, its really hard letting them out with the limited time we have.theyre not neutered or bonded yet so we have to have separate play times for them.

i get home from work at 10pm.as soon as i get home i let Chance out for an hour.then Ninja for the next hour and lastly,Chace.i admit i let Chace out longer and sometimes i leave him out for the whole night. its unfair forthe other two-i know.

i was planning on just letting Chace out Mondays and Thursdays;Chance on Tuesdays and Fridays;Ninja on Wednesdays and Saturdays and then Sundays no bunny gets play time.i just want them have the whole day to play and run around instead of an hour everynight.

does that make sense??i need suggestions on how you guys do it with multiple bunnies that arent bonded yet.

I would actually go with a little everyday instead of twice a week. This gives them more consistent exercise and doesn’t have them stuck in their cages for days vegetating and getting frustrated.

          What do other people think?

I would agree with that, too. I think it’s essential for them to get some exercise daily, and could be hard on their health to have it be intermittent. It’s a tough schedule for you, yes, but if you want one to have an all day out, or all night, you could do an hour for two, and the third gets to stay out once or twice a week. Bunny 1 out an hour, Bunny 2 out an hour, Bunny 3 out the rest of the time. Switch to bunny 1 as Bunny 3 the next day. Make sense?

I’m going to go the other way on this. My opinion: As long as they are receiving adequate exercise each WEEK, I think this system might work. It is not the ideal, but I think I might be a good compromise. Sometimes we need to make sacrifices and do the best we can and I think they would all receive enough exercise. If you were to do this tho, I’d recommend that the other rabbits have an xpen attached to their cages for some safe space on the “off days”.

Also, keep in mind that rabbits can fight and or get pregnant thru the bars of a cage/pen. Are they all caged in the same room? The free roaming bunny must not be able to get within 3 inches of any other bunny. In addition to this, you should have a cover over the xpens so there is no risk of a bun hopping the pen.

Edited to add: Now that I am thinking about it, Ibelieve I remember Binkybunny saying she did something similar to this when she had a pair and a single bun.  They switched exercise/free roam days, but the penned space was always very, very large to accomodate the others.

Two of your bunnies are of age to be neutered, correct?  What is your timeline?  Are you having issues finding a vet or is there something else in the way?

I have an unbonded trio at the moment. I have tried different solutions which are:

                  1) One out between 6 and 13, and then the next one between 13 and 20.
                  2) One out at night, the other out during daytime
                  3) Both out in the same room at the same time but with dividers
                  4) Both out 24-7, but in each room

I think it is important that they have out-time for a couple of hours each day.

Beka,2 of my bunnies are both 8 months old and theyre scheduled to get neutered on January.by then they would be 10 months old. Its funny you mentioned about them hopping over the pens because Chance used to do that when one bunny is out and she’s not.we cover her pen now with a cloth. I have a lot of extra grid cubes so i used that as dividers so they cant get to each other’s pens.

Also, they have blankets of their own that i put down on the floor when theyre out so they dont get territorial.i pretty much clean the whole floor before they switch turns.is it necessary or can i just use one blanket for all of them?i dont have carpet that’s why i have to put a blanket whenever theyre out.

Hmmm I think great suggesitons-and it’s kind of up to you. Maybe try it and see what works best for them. It depends on their energy level and needs right now too, as well as how they are housed. If they have a multi level condo they probably need less time. If they are in a typical ‘large’ rabbit cage and high energy every day for less might be better.
Have you considered different ‘areas’-like cover the bathroom in towels or a blanky and one can play in there, one can have the living room and one has a night off play time or anything like that?

i live in a studio so im thinking maybe i could just split my place into 3 so they can have play time at the same time-separate though.i will try out all your suggestions and see which works best.
