my boyfriend just got a baby lionhead bunny.we let him explore while my other 2 bunnies were in their pens.my girl bunny Chance probably smelled the new bunny so she started acting weird and being nosy. When he got close to Chance’s pen,she grabbed him by his left paw. I got to them before it got worse but now,our baby bunny keeps on licking his left paw and kinda limping.we tried to check if he got cut but we dont see anything plus he’s so fluffy its so hard to tell.he’s acting normal its just that he tries not to use his left paw.

With Chance’s behavior,i dont know if it was territorial or because the new bunny is a he.Im not really sure why she acted like that.My other bunny Chace is fine with him its just Chance that gets crazy when she smells him.

That was so scary.ive never seen 2 bunnies fight.

I would think she was being territorial. Lago doesn’t really like it when other bunnies she doesn’t know are in her area and acts pretty aggressive towards them. As for the injury, I’m not sure, but I think the new bunny may have to see a vet. Hopefully someone else will know more about what to do. I hope the little boy is okay!

Don’t let them get close to each other until all bunnies are spayed and neutered. It is best that way. girls especially get territorial. Even through cage bars it is dangerous. And pregnancies can occur through bars too. best to keep a few inches between at all times.

If new bunny is favoring his paw alot, and still wont walk on it, you may want to take him in. He could have a broken toe or such from her clamping down on it.

he walks with it now but he’s still licking it a lot. i never even thought that Chance could grab him like that.we moved him to the other side of the room now.if he keeps on doing that tomorrow,we will take him to the vet.

Are any of your rabbits altered yet? In any event, you are going to have to be extremely careful about securing all their habitats as they are not bonded.

Having a house of unbonded rabbits is a risk and requires alot of diligence.
