I know this post isn’t filled with wondering questions, but I’m quite excited to have maybe figured out what kind of bunny Mr. Bingley is!  when I got him, the lady at the pet store (and looking back, I know I shoud have adopted, but then I wouldn’t have my precious boy) told me he was a Hotot. When I was researching what kind of rabbit I thought would fit best in my lifestyle, I had come across pictures of Hotots and Bing definitely does not look like one. So I waited out for him to finish growing. His mama was this HUGE white bunny (or so the pet store told me) but he is still a tiny little thing. Maybe 4 lbs. Maybe. He is 8 months old and at this point, he looks like a mini-rex.

        What do y’all think?

they told you he was an hotot? ROTFL that reminds me of the “malamute” that comes to my work, ya know the 30lb floppy eared sable variety lol. could be a Rex or Rex X, its hard to see in the pic though.

Rex rabbits have velvety fur, short and plush. If he has fur like that, then he is rex, or at least part

I looked at your other pics and he doesn’t look to have rex fur. Unless he’s a mix of some sort which is very possible.

I don’t know much about bunny breeds, but he sure is cute ! I love his black markings. BunBun almost picked out a wife with markings similar to that, but instead decided on her sister, who is black with a white nose, just like BunBun.
He has pretty big ears- could he still be growing? I heard that rabbirs “grow into” their ears, but who knows. Bing and Beka’s bunnies, Meadow and Max would look adorable together! I love that both buns are white/black but Max is a lop and the Meadow is an up-ear bun. I love matching bunnies- lol.

His body shape and head definitely looks rex – I’d have to see more pictures to tell about the fur, but from the pictures in your profile it doesn’t look like rex fur. As others have said, rex fur is short and all one length – exactly like velvet. It’s very distinctive and different from “normal” bunny fur. I would say he’s a rex mix who got the body type but not the fur. Though if those pics were when he was a baby, he could’ve had his baby fur and could’ve grown out to an adult rex coat by now.

Those pictures are baby pictures. I know, its shameful not to have updated them! I’m working on borrowing a camera since mine broke. His fur has changed, minus the fur between his ears and around his shoulder blades. Its like his baby fur still. Everywhere else is short and really soft and shiny. I wouldn’t doubt he is a mix though. I’m not sure if he was related to any of the other baby bunnies he was with, but I picked him because he looked so different than all of them. There was another one I was thinking about that had a lion mane, but he was so skiddish I couldn’t get to know him. Bing just sat in my lap and stared at me. I can’t imagine not having him.

I will work on more pictures!

You’ll have to take a couple new ones so we can see his fur now that he is older

They are quite long. I was looking at his fur today and its reminds me of baby kitten hair. And then some parts of it were more like cat hair. I will have pics up monday when I get my camera!

He looks like an Indy Bun with more black. I have no idea what Indy is either. Whatever he is…it’s sure cute!!
