I put caging under TWO layers of area rugs…and two sheets on top of that….Opal has managed to dig/chew her way through all of it.  I’m at my wits end….what should I do?

I can’t keep buying area rugs…they’re pricey.  I’m thinking about putting a layer of cardboard down, but I don’t really know what to do.  This is getting a little insane.

        Thoughts? Advice?

I’m thinking about restructuring her castle completely.  I feel like I need to start from scratch.  Help!!! Pleeeeease!!!

Use large cardboard sheets for her to go nuts on. It will satisfy her digging urge and they are free so you can replace regularly.

Should I put them on top of the area rugs or under them? (Thanks, I’m breaking apart boxes as we speak. )

On top. You need large sheets and make them stationary so they feel like flooring. I weight mine down with loose tiles.

if you are looking for somthing to put under her cage you could use linoleum. and then put cardboard in there to satisfy his urge to dig.

I agree. I would use the linoleum with cardboard over it. My bun loves cardboard! The linoleum is cheap too. I like the sticky back tiles.

you can get big cardboard boxes from any bike shop. They ship bicycles in big huge boxes and the bike stores usually have a big stack of them out back. They should give it to you for free.
