Since we do not know if Hugo had something that could be spread to other rabbits and I’m considering bringing home a new bun or two home, is there anything I need to do?  Should I buy new things for them or should I bleach everything Hugo used?  It seems weird for me to be asking but it just crossed my mind.  I’m probably being paranoid now since everything that happened.  Thanks for your help and I hope to be adding new pics soon!

Actually this is an important consideration. I would bleach everything.

I would just wash everything you have – using bleach would be fine for this to disinfect.

You might also want to clean the floors and furniture around where he was. Also, don’t wear any clothing that hasn’t been washed around the new bunny.

Great tip. Thanks! I think everything was already washed pretty well. It’s still hard for me to see his fur on things. He was never at our new house though. So it’s pretty safe here. New floors and carpet.

It’s an excellent question. Definitely wash what you can, including all of your clothes, blankets, towels. You can try taking a wide piece of masking tape and rolling it around your hand, then brushing it along anything that has fur on it. It’s the cheap home version of a lint roller, and you can wipe down everything you have with fur and it will remove much of it. Don’t forget to clean your carrier, and maybe the new boys should have their own new dishes and toys. It will probably make you feel better along with them, since it won’t be as much of a reminder. Each bunny has his own favorite things, which is nice.

I just love the sound of your nutty boys!
